Smart deadbolts, the Australian edition

@SgtBatten I have the lock installed, and got a Sonoff USB 3 Dongle Plus coordinator off ebay today.
The dongle seems to have been setup fine on HA with ZHA. However, I am unable to get it to pair in ZHA (Network Join enabled in Lock + Add device in ZHA).

Any suggesstions? I’ve even flashed the dongle to the latest coordinator firmware . This is my first (and for now only) Zigbee device :frowning:

Just to confirm you are searching for new devices on zha and also pressing join network on the lock (first time i didn’t progress far enough in the lock menu to actually start the join process)

Also how far from the lock is the coordinator? Any interference from nearby devices?

Legend! It was the interferance - moved the HA away from the router, and the antenna from the dongle and was able to add the lock! Thanks for the tip

Now to get the automations and lovelace setup using your scripts…

anyone tried this (lockwood zigbee deadbolt) with conbee2 and ZHA? thanks.

It works fine with my conbee

thanks for the response @jimmyleet. how did you manage to add it? any special tweaks?

The correct state of the lock doesn’t get updated when manually unlocked (the entity state is still “Locked”). Has anyone else faced the same issue? Any pointers?

Im setting up a simple automation to lock when the door sensor is closed and if the lock state is unlocked. However the lock state doesn’t reflect correctly.

Worst case, the automation can just trigger the lock when after a few minutes of the door being closed, but with more impact on the lock battery. So looking to have the above condition in place.

Check for interference. (Try using the coordinator in a slightly different spot.)

Hello! I recently bought the Yale Zigbee lock, i’ve added it into Zigbee2mqtt and enabled expose_pin in settings.

In HA, how can i see which code unlocked the door? And how can i use that to trigger certain automations?

Thanks!

In developer tools > events I can listen to zha_events and then lock/unlock my door to see the corresponding messages.

I assume you can do this for z2m also.

What you need is the event type "zha_event* for me and then the data/args from the event.

It was pretty clear once you unlock with a pin.

So I setup my automations based on a zha_event with part of the data being “unlock”. Then use any of the other args of the event as part of an automation, one of which tells you which slot was used. You can see my example in this post.

Hey @Matthew_King

The website says ‘REQUIRES A ZIGBEE HUB TO OPERATE REMOTELY’ but I’m curious if the Zigbee module is included with this lock or do I need to buy that separately?

Thanks Brad

The lock comes with the module to enable zigbee, however you will still need a hub/gateway such as conbee etc

That’s great, thanks for your reply. I have a ZigBee network set up already but all of the Yale/Lockwood locks I’ve found in Bunnings etc need an optional ZigBee module to work, which makes this lock amazing value as just the module is $85.

did you end up finding a solution using Z2M?

Just noticed today that my T Locks via my Sonoff ZigBee 3.0 dongle aren’t showing any update to lock state. I can trigger Lock or Unlock via HA but the state doesn’t update. Also doesn’t update if manually turned. I have 3 T locks and pretty sure all have this problem (haven’t tested my 3rd one yet). Anyone else have a similar problem? I’m sure it used to work but have done multiple HA updates, moved my HA machine, changed my dongle to run via a USB 3 hub with an ethernet port so my machine can run via the wired network.

Z2m? Zha? Deconz?

ZHA with the Sonoff ZigBee 3.0 dongle. Changed the dongle to go via a USB 2.0 hub as I read USB 3.0 can cause interference. Already had a metre or so long extension cable to separate the dongle from the hub. Still no luck. Will try unpairing and re pairing to see if that helps

Edit: Solved my problem. Had to unpair and pair again. Might have been routing via a dodgy router. Tried to pair one manually directly through a Hue bulb but wouldn’t pair. Then tried through my Sonoff ZigBee 3.0 router that I recently added to my network and pair. I also redid another one via an IKEA tradfri bulb and worked fine. Looks like my Hue bulbs may be causing some issues. Very annoying as I have devices dropping on and off my network constantly despite adding more and more router devices.

What kind of locks you use exactly?

The lockwood tlock mentioned a lot in this thread which is a rebranded yale assure SL

Thank you. I have been looking for a good dead bolt lock works well with HA they are few and far between. This one you speak of doesn’t like they have many of them being made either. A quick search on the Web like like my only place would be eBay. You have a link to purchase these lock? How you like it any issues?
