My a/c is Hualing (aka Miller?) and i have created the json file with the broadlink codes for cool, heat, dry, auto modes (and the fan speeds). Where do i post it to be included in the smartir repository?
Would it be possible to add this to HACS for easy updating and installation? I tried adding it as a custom repo but got errors!
Sorry if I missed this, but how do we upload a new code file to be added for the component?
I have a Hitachi RAS-35YHA5, but the two hitachi files are missing some codes as this unit has 4 fan speeds, plus auto.
I need option “target_temp”, “ac_mode”.!
plz add it.
I believe target_temp is just the temperature you set the HVAC unit to and ac_mode is just the operation mode.
Should be able to create what you need using the method to create a custom json file if existing codes don’t work.
The website that creates JSON codes works really well. You should just tell it that the only mode you want is cooling and it will create a JSON code file just for cooling and whatever fan speeds you need to use. The heat option is not listed for units that have cool only.
That’s the way I understand it anyway.
Edit: Link to the website: Broadlink tools by Keite Trần
at the moment once we create the json file from this website broadlinkIRTools we place it in the proper hassio custom component smartir code directory and then enter it in the configuration.yaml … all done manually until we know how to send the files to the programmer
create an issue on github and attach the codes there
I’ll attach the new file and create an issue for it tomorrow when I am home.
I have tested it and it works well for the RAS-25YHA and RAS-35YHA models (possibly others in the same series too)
Dear,
One small question one small help.
I have set my samsung smart tv ping anynet to control my onkyo receiver.
and from that samsung ping i have set onkyo receiver to change status according to samsunt tv.
now i have smartir onkyo setup as media_player,
how to change status of my media_player.onkyo_smartir according to switch.onktoreceiver which is controlled by samsungtv ping for displaying status.
i dont want to set samsungtv ping for this, (as if i put on onkyo receiver by switch.onkyoreceiver manually, media_player will still shows off, as it was linked with samsungtv ping)
Please somebody guide me.
thanks in adv.
Hi all
I’ve just got a new air conditioner, brand Daitsu from Fujitsu group.
I’ve created the json file using the fantastic tool.
I will post it soon to the github.
In the dry mode there is no temperature and no fan speed to choose and also in fan mode there is only fan speed and no temperature whil in the tool it created all temperatures and all fan speed for all the modes.
How can I set in the SmartIR interface?
Thanks
Just create them in the json with the same code for each variant of fan speed, temp, mode.

I just got a new MRCOOL 12K mini split AC installed. Last night, I changed over from the genreic thermostat to the Smartir. Since there wasn’t a json file for the MRCOOL, I had to capture the codes using Broadlink Manager. So far, I only have the ones for “cool” and the temp setpoints when the fan is in Auto. It seems to be working OK. To me, it seems the control is slow with several degrees swing. I will let it run and see if the control tightens up. Thanks for creating SMartir.
If you check the graph, 9PM is when I switched to Smartir. Then about 3AM, I raised the setpoint one degree to 78 because the temp kept falling and was 73 deg F. I hope this works out good. I like it.
I would imagine that the only option is to use a power monitoring plug that provides power to the receiver.
Either that, or does the receiver have an auxiliary output which switches on when the amp is on? I know my Onkyo does. You could use this to interface to a custom device to monitor the status, ie: a Wemos D1 Mini.
Does anyone have any suggestions for tighter control, or is this the expected outcome? The garage is well insulated. When I was using the generic thermostat, the temp was being controlled at about 1 deg swing. My temperature sensor is about 12 feet from the unit, so it is a representative reading for the entire garage. Set point is 77 deg F. High swing 79 deg, low at 73.2
Question. What does “Precision 1” mean in the json file? Can that be tweaked to get tighter control?
This component doesn’t regulate anything, it just sends codes, it’s up to the Aircon to do this.
Is it inverter model?
Yes. This is an inverter model.
This one.
