Hi @francisjmm, sure, if there is modbus rtu documentation available.
Hi @raghathol, sure it is. Even so it slightly depends on your inverter’s model and brand but PV Power is proly the entity you are looking for.
Hey David, would you consider expanding your integration to pull the inverter data from Solarmanpv server using solarmanpv API protocol?
I did try your integration as it is but it did not work for me.
I am having Sofar ESI-5K-S1 inverter and using a logger with S/N 27xxxxxxxx using firmware LSW3_15_MQTT_270A_1.10
. I requested the APP_ID and APP_SECRET from solarmanpv for my account and I could use that to retrieve data from their server https://globalapi.solarmanpv.com
. So instead of retrieving the data directly from the logger, would you consider putting in an option to retrieve the data from solarmanpv server?
Thanks.
There is already a way to pull data from the Solarman API…have a look at this thread and you’ll get all the detail…
thread starts before the changes to https://globalapi.solarmanpv.com last year but read through and all the data is there…have a look and if you need help post over there…
not pre-empting David’s response to your question but this integration here is about local access to your inverter via the solarman stick logger so isn’t dealing with the API at all
Yes, I have gone through that thread a few days ago and that was how I managed to retrieve the Solarmanpv data from the cloud but not integrated into HA, I was just suggesting to David perhaps he could add an option to get the data from the cloud in addition to getting the data directly from the logger.
Somehow, using Solarman stick logger hasn’t work for me. Both David’s and StephanJoubert’s version hasn’t work for me yet.
Hi all,
I still need to purchase a data logging stick for my Solis Inverter. Is David Rapan’s integration compatible with the S3-WiFi-ST stick? Or do I need to purchase another stick?
Hi @DriesA, S3-WiFi-ST is not Solarman based according to this thread, so it won’t work. The integration is primarily made for Stick Logger | Solar Data Logger - SOLARMAN
Oh, thanks. Sorry, I was totally wrong then. I’ll check if my Solis inverter is compatible with a Solarman stick. I couldn’t find any good Home Assistant integrations with Solis, except yours.
I’m quite sure it is compatible.
Hi @000al000, that long serial number indicates that you are not using latest version of the profile for some reason:
fix: Battery X Serial Number decoding rule in Deye
Working after redownload throught HACS! Thank you
May be you known how remove “old battery”, that was added by previuos version of integration?
And i have strange device that contain “Battery 9” and “Battery 10” in one device, and i have only 8 battery
Hi @000al000, thanks for your report. I fixed it in this commit, so it will be part of the next release.
Hi David (or others),
Where do you buy these data loggers?
I couldn’t find them online and my solar panel installer doesn’t know where to get this data logger.
The data logger that he proposed for my Solis inverter (S3-WiFi-ST) works only via the (Chinese) Cloud, and I prefer local solutions.
You need DLS-W or DLS-L 4-pin only logger so Let Me Google That For You…
Thanks. I wasn’t aware the DLS-W also works with your integration. I did saw that this is a “legacy” data logging stick (“These are no longer being sold or supported by Solis”), but the newer S3-WiFi-ST only works via the cloud.
In this case, any 4-pin solarman based logger should be fine. To be sure, you can ask the manufacturer which loggers currently sold are compatible.
Unfortunately, I’m not that familiar with brands other than Deye…
Thanks. I guess I’ll just risk it and buy a DLS-W.
Just make sure it doesn’t have an alphanumeric serial number.
I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere, but I have the LSW-3 on my Sofar Solar, and I found the quality of it’s WiFi connection to be very bad (although the AP is at 4 or 5m, with no walls!)
I strongly hesitate to buy the LSE-3 to directly connect it by Ethernet… but I wonder if it’s better quality?
