Sonoff Dongle PMG-24 using Thread

Hi, I have the latest Home Assistant container running on a Raspberry Pi5 (Trixie, 64 bits). According to:

I spent over an hour fussing with an Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2 trying to get it to act as a Thread Border Router. I need to install an OpenThread App within Home Assistant to use Thread. Is this correct or am I missing something? Would the same apply to other hardware (e.g. Casa Nabu’s Connect ZBT-2)?

Any guidance is highly appreciated. I cannot believe that using Matter/Thread is not available on a Pi5 with containerized HA.

I can't help a lot as I don't run HA Container, nor use the PMG-24, but you can't use the OpenThread "App" as the "App" is for HAOS based installations. However I do make some notes from time-to-time trying to be helpful, and here are a couple of links for a standalone Docker OTBR container that should work for your situation:
