I installed 2026.8.1 (on top of the last 2026.7) last weekend and noticed a continuous increase in storage usage. Does anybody else have that? Is something not being cleaned up properly?
It was fairly constant before. I’m on HAOS 18.2
8,5 to 12,5% of what amount of storage?
I don’t hve an answer as to why it has increased a few percent, but you have loads of free space, do not worry about this. Just monitor it for some days, you will be fine.
How does your CPU & RAM act ? , And which Hardware are your running on ?
Disk Usage is do to Read/Write %( Not necessarily do to “Filling Your Disk” ) , So something is “Busy”
/Settings/System/Hardware … scroll down CPU/Ram
It’s a raspi4 4gb.
Nothing special with other resources, memory constant about 40%, cpu ~15%.
I’ll dig into it next week to see what’s growing exactly.
Right Something is filling Your DB, Could be " A Loop, In a template" or A Bogus Device/Integration
OR that you have Trimmed some devices/entities to give you Updates (every second instead of every 10 seconds ) for i.e Some Graphs , with i.e Total_increasing ( Long term Statistic )
The Increased Disk IO and( Increased DB ) , point towards , that you are not aware what Your entities Produces
PS: Your BluePrint folder look fairly big, specially if you don’t know what they actually does ( And your Automations.yaml also, for that matter )
BTW. Welcome to this Forum,and your first Topic/Post, Thou You either have a long experience with Your HA-Installation, or if it’s actually fairly New, You Have been too Busy, with fu.. it Up
PS: As you upgraded to 2026.8 there is also a risk that some of Your Custom_integrations is not uptodate ( To comply with 2026.8 ), and causing this
Yeah, i have Alot( Huge amounts ) of excludes in my Recorder-Settings, Basically look at tit this way:
Most things will work, without beeing recorded
And yes, there are some “integrations” i would never load my HA with
Flight-radar is 1 of these, you would be better of monitoring their website manually, or setup i.e a tiny webserver in a VM, For such features ( If you are familiar with HTML and java-script ), then you can View it in HA, from your tiny-local-webserver, via i.e an html/markup-Card
PS: When you have cleaned up, and everything runs fine again, you could install this new Integration ( It doesn’t have a big “foot-print” as it’s just a GUI-Interface, for the underlying Recorder )
GUI Recorder – manage recorder & clean up your DB, no YAML .
Be aware that it doesn’t work exactly as the “Manual” recorder-settings , But if you are relative new, you fast get use to it, And it Really gives you a good “Insight” of your system and how your entities “behave”
Use DBStats to see what bloats your database. It’s linked in my guide as well.
