I followed those instructions exactly. I do not have the Add-Ons store. Clicking it causes HA to spin and generate a bunch of errors.

Okay, What does that mean (your response is essentially non-information)? I downloaded from the HA image from Installation - Home Assistant for the 32 bit R Pi 4b. Is there a better place? More up-to-date? I flashed the micro SD card using Balena, as instructed. I have HA running on my Pi with the exception of the Add-On store. Any real help?

The text file may have had further useful information further up, but we’ll never know.
Is that a fresh SD card, or one you’ve been using for a while?
Have you checked for known issues - like ths one - and either opened a new issue if there isn’t one, or added information to any existing one?
Indeed it is a new SD card. I apologize for not providing the entire log I’m happy to. It will be at the end of this post. Being new to this community, I’m not well-informed on protocols. For example, I first found writings on Add-On store failing here: Add-on store failing. There were many new users posting of the same experience as mine as far back as May, but there seemed to be no responses regarding solutions. I did add my experience to that thread. I was not aware of the known issues repository. The issue you rightly point out is 3 weeks old, but only the original post is part of the thread, no further responses.
I’d simply like to get the initial install to fully function before moving forward.

All I can suggest is that you add details to that issue so the developers can investigate.
That other thread has some horribly misleading information - HACS is totally unrelated.
I’ll split your posts here into a fresh thread and give it a more relevant title in the hope that somebody sees it who can help you.
my2cents: I fixed by re-burning the same image on the same SD using the same balena etcher (32 bit R-Pi3). Don’t know what the cause might be

So, I’ve had the exact same experience as stevevg: I had a spare SD. I flashed it with Balena. Started it and now I can see all the Add-Ons. Possibly a Balena issue?

which led me to the root cause, a corrupt git repo (fatal: index file corrupt).
In my case I was able to fix the problem by deleting and re adding the Community Add-ons repo https://github.com/hassio-addons/repository via the web UI
There’s probably a way to do that via git commands for Core Add-ons.
My SD card probably got corrupt after a hard reset.
The above by chocomega worked well… Go to
Navigate to ->Supervisor->Add on store … Top right of the screen, click the elipsis->repositories
This will load the manage add on repositories… Delete the existing repository… then add a new one
The screen should refresh instantly and fix 
Not working for me unfortunately. I can’t install the repository, as I get an “already exists” error. At the same time, it is not listed under “repositories”… 
The BETA-Repository will also not install, with the same error message!!!
Any ideas?
Just installed a new HA and restored from back-up. Now it is working again. Thanks to PROXMOX not a big deal!!!
