A few weeks ago the Samsung fridge had a software update. Since then I am no longer able to see the picture of inside the fridge in my HA. Anybody else with this issue?
Yes I’m seeing the same issue with the picture inside no longer showing in the familyhub camera component after the Family Hub 4.0 update.

Has anyone heard about any progress on the family hub camera component?
Have the same issue as well… anyone know of workaround?
Not working here either running HA 0.98.4 with a Samsung RF23M8570SR running Tizen 4.0 (FHUB4M.KM.US.RF8000.MP.RELEASE 20190529_094630)
An old thread, but no progress getting those additional sensors visible in HA?
Strange, I don’t have any freezer temperatures, and no controls
Ignore - I’m clearly not using the fork. Thanks!
Which release version has this functionality?
Hi,
Great to see how people develop things just because they like it. I’m a rookie when it comes to Home Assistant.
I installed the original SmartThings but was a bit disappointed with the possibilities.
After some surfing on the net, I ended up on your Github. But I fail to install it. When I try to add your repository I get the message “https://github.com/veista/smartthings is not a valid add-on repository”. Manually installation, I don’t find the “custom_components” folder :-(.
can someone help me
thanks in advance
Filip
I installed the repository like this.
click on HACS
click on additions
on the top right there are 3 vertical dots
click on the 3 vertical dots and select Custom Repositories
enter the url in the repository and select additions on categories.
I am stuck in the post configuration, after the installation what should I do?
Hi Oiligriv,
I can’t add de repositorie. I always get the message “not a valid add-pn repository”!
After getting this fixed, I supose you can use the original setup te install the smartthings on Home Assistent (did this without any problems)
see instructions: SmartThings - Home Assistant
Best
Filip
you seem to be missing the HACS component
Thank you Oiligriv. I will start working on it this evening.
Hi Oiligriv,
Thank you for your input. I figured it out, Follow steps:
klik on “+ REPOSITORIES VERKENNEN EN DOWNLOADEN” (fyi this is Dutch :-D)
enter in de search “SamrtThings Custom” in select the addon
Restart Home Assistant
and install the SmartThings you find un the traditional integrations. Now I have access to more options and values.
Best
Filip
does it work for you?
First i not find the repositeries “SmartThings Custom”
But by adding GitHub - veista/smartthings: A fork of the Home Assistant SmartThings Integration. This adds better support for Samsung OCF Devices. as repositories, it’s work
HACS
- Remove your original smartthings integration if you have one set up (optional)
- Add
https://github.com/veista/smartthings
as a Custom Repository - Install
SmartThings Custom
from the HACS Integrations tab - Restart Home Assistant
- Install
SmartThings
from the HA Integrations tab - Enjoy!
Added camera support as separate integration. GitHub - ibielopolskyi/smartthings_fridge_camera: Custom Home Assistant integration for Samsung Family Hub camera
Maybe somebody who knows HA integrations better than I could reuse this logic for the existing integration.
