I would like to request that a forum moderator create a “Thread/OpenThread” subforum (similar to ZHA) under “Configuration” section to discuss Thread integration, OpenThread add-ons and Thread devices?

Home Assistant SkyConnect USB Stick announced - will be compatible with both Zigbee and Thread (including Matter/CHIP over Thread)

FYI, Nabu Casa’s Zack Barett has announced on Twitter that Home Assistant founders are working on an official Home Assistant SkyConnect USB Stick (ie. a physical radio adapter/dongle hardware). Thread wireless protocol?

Hi Checking some other IoT hardware, I discovered the Thread wireless technology (https://developer.artik.io/documentation/developer-guide/wireless-iot/thread.html) that looks to use same hw as Zigbee but different sw stack with native IPV6 support in the system. Does anyone has more info about it ? usable with HA ? How ? what hw ? and/or sw ? Thanks Vincèn

Notes on implementing Matter

A few notes about Matter and HA … Matter does not require Thread, it is optional. Matter simply requires IP networking, preferably IPv6. I have a working Wifi IPv6 Matter setup on my desk that has been running for a year. Ethernet or wifi makes no difference. My server is Linux and my devices are ESP32-C3 based.
