We started at the beginning again. Same result though.

Hi John

As far as I can see from logs it looks ok but your esp is in AP mode not in station mode connected at an AP ! Can you share your esphome sketch please ?

Sorry I don’t understand. What is an esphome sketch please?

I don’t understand that either, I’m afraid. As far as I can ascertain there is no YAML code. Please explain.
I am following the instructions at: ESP32-S3-BOX voice assistant - Home Assistant
I click ‘Connect’ and when it has finished it is supposed to ask for Wifi info but doesn’t!

Connect USB to PC then to ESP32-S3-BOX3.
Press the blue connect button.
Select the port on which box3 is connected and enter the connection.
Select install
After the installation is complete, press next and if the wifi setting option does not appear, disconnect the USB from the PC.
Reconnect to PC.
Repeat the first steps
Do not choose to install but start the console and then back.
It should show wifi settings.
If not then repeat these last steps

disconnect the

  • USB from the PC.
  • Reconnect to PC.
  • Repeat the first steps
  • Do not choose to install but start the console and then back.
  • It should show wifi settings.
  • If not then repeat these last steps
    about 10 times, but no success. do you have any advice?

I continued the loop, and at about the 17th time it worked eventually.

This needs added to Troubleshooting the ESP32-S3-BOX-3 - Home Assistant (home-assistant.io)

I just got my device today and ran into the same issue. Luckily i only had to unplug and reconnect once before the connect to wifi option showed up.

How is yours working? Mine is pretty rough at recognizing the wake word.

I haven’t really done much with it so far but yeah it doesn’t always recognise the wake word for me either.

same problem here. I can add it to ESP Home but it fails to configure/offer the configuration while using the Install voice assistant. Any suggestion? I’m at loss - tried all possible combinations, computes, browser

Hi for what have problems like me I have found a solution:

I’m at the 20th time now. No luck, so no dice.

I tried the suggestions here to no avail. In the end, I got it working by creating the device within HA/ESPHome. Once the device was compiled and ultimately failed, I was able to edit the small file created by copying the yaml from GitHub and pasting over the existing file. The wifi SSID and Password were entered into the file and saved and installed. The rest of the adoption etc. was accomplished with the HA ESPHone integration.

I also gave up on getting the wifi setting to work. None of the suggested steps work. I tried in Chrome and Edge on Windows and I tried Chrome on Linux. I cannot get it to continue to wifi settings. I had to load the yaml from github and hardcode the wifi credentials. That online thing is broken
