Tuya/Smart life: "Please use designated APP to login"

I too can confirm I was able to re-authenticate through the Qr code .

my two cents (meaning I don’t really know what I am talking about;) is that this was a problem that originated at the tuya cloud-back end, and that someone at Tuya resolved it, perhaps being aware of the problems here at home assistant.

Anyways, I am glad it only lasted about one-two days?

I had success by:

  • loading the Tuya Home app on my phone,
  • using that to try and sign-in to the HA Tuya app (with its new user code)
  • that failed with the usual “use the designated app” error code
  • tried again with the original Tuya app (with its original user code)
  • and it worked !!!
