Start by upgrading to latest. I can’t support anything which isn’t on latest
The Unifi integration broke for me in 0.112. All switches to block/unblock access are now greyed and can not be operated in the interface. Anyone else seeing this?
It’ working well for me, i’m on 0.112.4
Yes, just upgraded to 0.112.4 and this update seems to have resolved the problem for me as well.
I love the integration, but I would also like to block the internet connection of my children’s phones. With this integration if I toggle the switch of a phone then the phone will lose WiFi connection (as expected) but will then start using 4G. I would rather be able to keep the connection but block any traffic. Is this possible with this integration?
Or will I have to use a different integration for phones? I also have an edge router so maybe that can help?
As soon as they are using 4G they are outside of your network and out of control. You can’t block this with your unifi gear as the phone is then not connected to your network.
I guess firewall rules would accomplish what you’re looking for. Whether or not the phones are smart enough to identify the issue and switch over to 4G anyway I don’t know, but you could try that out manually
why do you need that?
if it’s for limiting access to some of home automation controls, then create UI views with limited set of controlls for children use, disallowing other views at the same time
It is for parental control nu would like to be able to switch off their internet access when needed. The best way would be to keep them on the WiFi as that will prevent the usage of 4G for internet. But then would need to block the access to the internet. I only needed to knowing that is possible. I read something about using restriction groups or so. I never used that (and don’t even know where to configure that). So I was wondering if that could be used to accomplish this?
Your Unifi Gear can’t force the phones connected to it to stay on WiFi, even if it could, your kids can just turn off WiFi.
You’d need to install an app on their phone to be able to do this, I’m sure a quick google search will lead to many results.
