I’m able to get in with HA Green but can’t seem to login. Is there a default user name or password?
Open http://<ha_ip_address>:8123 in a web browser first and follow the onboarding instructions, which include creating an account.
Hmm weird it doesn’t give me the option to create an account. It just says login
From a browser and ideally from a different computer. Not from the Companion app.
Otherwise follow the 2nd post above.
the problem is that i never created a username. when i run the cmd to display users, nothing is showing. how do i create a login? Is it possible to reset without access to the app UI?
Delete everything in /config, including the hidden files and restart.

I tried this but still just getting to the main screen and being prompted to enter a username password that I never created. I checked the commands and there are no users setup.
has this ever happened to anyone before? I’ve followed all the documentation and checked the forum, can’t find any historical posts to resolve

On a non-configured HA setup, you should be presented with a screen to create an account.
The first user input: "CREATE MY SMART HOME’ or ‘RESTORE FROM BACKUP’
Then you should get the following screen:

Did you not get that?
You better not do this on a mobile device (tablet/phone) and clearing your browser cache might be useful.
So by going to http://homeassistant.local:8123 or the IP address, preceded with http:// and followed with a semicolon and 8123 should give you the on-boarding screen.
TIP: use lowercase characters and nothing special for the first time and if desired, change it afterwards.
If I don’t create a user and restart the system, it shows me the ‘Create user’ screen again - as it should.
thanks for your feedback. I just tried these suggestions, unfortunately it is still not working. I’ve tried clearing cache, tried on other browsers, tried resetting the device, attempted to access the login details via command but i still can’t get to this screen.

Are you 100% sure that the reset succeeded?
I held the button on back of HA green for 12 seconds. all the lights turned off. then i plugged it back in while still holding down the button. pulled up the screen and still getting the same login page
Do you have a display connected to the Green?
I think it takes much longer to do the setup.
i have the green connected to the google mesh router.
i did connect a display to the green, in order to get to command screen. i did as much as i could there with resetting, etc., but still can’t access this create new user screen
I have the impression that you did not reset it to factory settings.
do you mind sharing the step by step? i followed the documents online but possible i did incorrectly
