Velux windows and blinds with HA

Hi Pete69, did it work finally to integrate velux and via Broadlink to HA? I am also thinking to integrate my Velux/Somfy via Broadlink RM Pro. Thanks

I got this approach working using an Arduino to ā€œpressā€ the buttons on the remote some time ago. It worked for less than an hour before killing the remote.
Iā€™m now exploring a different option. Having dismantled a spare blind assembly, I can see that the Velux controller board can be bypassed and the motor linked directly to the 24 volt supply. I could then use a separate Z-Wave blind controller to drive the motor directly.
My problem is that I need a moveable platform to access the blinds, so it will have to wait until Iā€™m in a position to hire the platform along with someone willing to work at those heights!

Do you have that link still? I canā€™t justify $250 for the KLF200, but Iā€™d be willing to hack up one of my controllers.

Hi @jdbrookes are you still running this arrangement? Itā€™s exactly what Iā€™m looking to do. I donā€™t suppose youā€™ve got a pic of the wiring arrangement have you?

I donā€™t have photos of my own dodgy work, itā€™s all tucked away in a box away in the ceiling now, but I based it pretty closely on the link here: Techā€™notes: Control your Velux roller shutter with Raspberry Pi and WebIOPi framework (egrasland.blogspot.com)

Itā€™s been about 3 years but itā€™s still working great, and on the original remote batteries too. I did a simpler version of the one linked above, in that I used 3 of the 4 channels available in the sonoff to ā€œpressā€ the up, down and stop buttons. But in my automations I realistically only use the up and down buttons. I soldered to the two contacts for each button to each channel in the sonoff (not very neat but it got the job done) so that the sonoff can close the circuit, as if you pressed the button on the remote itself. ie a dry contact. Nothing more complicated than that. The only slight negative with using a relay is that you can faintly hear the click when it triggers.

Optionally you can add a zigbee or other type of contact sensor to the window blind so that you can get a confirmation that the blind is opened or closed but the remote works so reliably that Iā€™ve not needed to do this.

Hello Community,

I am building my house and I will have have 11 pieces roof-window and 9 pieces blinds.
As I checked I will need KLF200 for control. 1 piece KLF can control 200 pieces producst.

My question is.
I will see the products in HA or just the scenes?
So If I would like control everything independently 1 piece KLF is enough or need more because KLF have 5 scenes?

Thanks,
