At the risk of sounding woke (!), I think it’s nice towards others to be inclusive. I don’t mind adjusting my own language and behaviour if it makes other feel more comfortable (within reason). I’ve e.g. seen more women on the forum lately, and that’s great. Home automation should be for everyone. I don’t think it needs to be a case of going overboard with rules: Simply, if someone objects personally, respect that. This should also not be a home to politics: Everyone here shares a passion for home automation, so the focus should remain there.

I have reported the Z-Wave Alliance and Z-WaveJS UI several times to the Ministry of Truth for their unrepentant use of the terms Master and Slave in the protocol spec and the GUI.

This is still sifting out. I am bitter about now having to fix my customer blueprints that deal with TTS because the TTS platforms are changing to having 1 set of voices instead of a binary gender based lists of voices…
