Don’t get me wrong, Home Assistant is really great.
But somehow we are missing very “basic” functionality.

Don’t get me wrong, Home Assistant is really great. But somehow we are missing very “basic” functionality like the following: An easy way to create a cover entity from 2 switches. Many homes have existing covers/blinds which you can open, close and tilt with just 2 switches (up/down). It would be nice to have an easy way to configure this in the Home Assistant UI. entity for moving it up entity for moving it down opening duration closing duration tilting duration Another thing that’s miss…

The key message: If we want to bring Home Assistant to the masses, things have to be easily configurable.
From my point of view, this should be a focus topic in 2025
→ a move away from “I have to configure every detail” torwards “i configure a high-level use case” (lighting, heating, covers, …)
