WTH CalDAV integrations can't add event?

Issue raised almost 4 years ago.

CalDAV is a standard, most CalDAV clients can create events, WTH can’t Home Assistant do it too?
The people in the abovementioned thread made some workarounds.

Currently, if we want to self-host a calendar, either we create a local calendar on Home Assistant that we can’t access outside Home Assistant, or we create a CalDAV calendar that Home Assistant can’t manage, only read.

My wife wants to buy subscription required proprietary tablet when my HA tablet already pulls the calendar she wants.
I tried to show her, look HA can do that already… then realized it couldn’t add events to the iCloud calendar I have set up…
