WTH can't I decide who can change entity (e.g. timer) settings?

,

I’m especially interested in the timer entity. I’ve got a couple of automatons that depend on timers.
As I like to have as compact cards in the UI as possible (as few elements as possible) I don’t want to create helper entities that define timer time-periods. I know I can change timer time in entity settings, but it is only possible for the “advanced” users unlike the input entities that can be changed by anyone (which is also not perfect).

Would be great to be able to define who (which user(s)) can change entity settings or even entity value for the input helpers.

This could be solved by this feature request, but I’m afraid it may be too complex to implement or use.
