Looks like there’s a few previous WTH entries for this from 2022, so maybe not an easy problem to solve, but still.
I have power reporting from smart plugs, templates, opower integration, etc. My utility has a fixed price that only changes once every 6-months to a year.
It looks like if you have an energy consumption integration (OPower in my case) home assistant won’t let you set a price that doesn’t come from the integration.
WTH can’t I set a price as a helper independently, and add it to the energy dashboard when I have a power consumption integration?

### The problem
I've linked my ConEdison account successfully and I'm seeing th… e statistics flow through. (I've had the linkage for a few weeks now).
The electricity consumpion statistic works fine but the cost one is always 0.0
This looks like a bug to me. Thank you.

In Sweden it’s very popular with energy price per hour. I guess that this exists on other places than Sweden.
However, it would be very nice if we could add a sensor (like the solar forecast) that shows the energy price as a dotted line (like the solar forecast) for every our in the energy dashboard.
Today this must be solved with apex charts, but I think this would be a really nice function.
It could look something like this. It would be really nice to see how your energy consumption dependi…

Indeed the price template sensor could be used to “dynamically” determine the price to be used with if statements for when date is x.
However, it would be easier (next to possible reverse fixing pricing in case your to late) to have an option in the energy configuration to mark an new static tariff with an start date.
(Would be more user friendly less technical people like my parents. Who are able to perform basic tasks via the UI if explained but who I wouldn’t want anywhere near the yaml con…
