WTH is it so hard to design dashboards on my PC for other devices?

I setup dashboards and do configuration of HA on my PC as it’s just easier - large screen, keyboard, mouse etc.

So I design a nice new dashboard for my tablet or mobile, then look at it on that device and it’s not what I want with everything moved around.

Easy fix: In the dashboard editor have a control telling it what device you are designing for so it can show you what it will really look like!

Code inspector in Chrome has a possibility to select a target device.
Probably other browsers have a similar feature.

This should be something that is easy to do for novice users

What is difficult here?

  1. Press F12
  2. Press Ctrl-Shift-M to device selection toolbar (or press a corr. screen button).
  3. Select your target device from a list.
  4. Do what you usually do when changing a dashboard.

Instead you propose to duplicate a browser’s functionality in HA.
