I’m kinda new to HA and an amateur programer, so I tend to switch between GUI and YAML when editing Automations and Scripts, largely to make sure I get the indentation correct, but especially when I’m copying existing code from one Script to another.
What I’ve found is that in order to add an action I have to click any random action, switch it to YAML mode, and paste in the snippet.
WTH can’t I just key in “YA…” and hit enter in the action/trigger/condition/etc selector, have HA drop my cursor in the editor, and hit Ctrl-v?
On a related note, it would be great to change or add to the “copy” function (dashboards, cards, and automations) to copy the yaml to the clipboard instead of holding it however it does. The goal being to allow transfer between two windows that are open. Perhaps, at least an extra option in the menu “copy YAML to clipboard”.
