WTH Why does the Energy Dashboard not allow for a monthly standard charge

The energy dashboard tracks energy usage and allows for multiple tariffs (e.g. peak and off-peak) through the use of Utility Meter entities. Many energy providers levy a fixed monthly standing charge that is added to the bill regardless of how much energy is actually used.

Why can this not be accommodated within the energy Dashboard so that bills can be more easily checked. I think this topic may have been raised some time ago but I could not see it in the current round of WTH’s.

Agree, it seems that the team did not want to progress more on the energy dashboard as beyond the current point different countries were all wildly different.

But I do agree, the usage of standing charges is very very common.

At the moment I have bumped up my per unit charge, based on what the percentage allocation of standing charge is… but its not very elegant.

Best bet is to break your bills down to variable and static charges yourself. There’s waaaaaay to many variables to add a comprehensive billing part to energy dashboard to be a generic, one size fits all thing.

Many charge this daily, not monthly.

Maybe something like this then …

There is quite a popular feature request that has a suggestion almost exactly like that. Energy: Add fixed daily cost

Thanks for the heads-up, I have just added my vote.
