X-Sense Security - is it possible to create an integration?

I use the water sensor SWS0A, it works great with the integration. Only the SWS51 sensor is mentioned in the readme.

Hello everyone,
I’m just a noob, I started a couple of weeks ago to use Home Assistant OS.
I was able to have the sensor working with this integration ( thanks beautiful job ), but I have a question regarding the update time…
Since I added it to my HA, the CO level is showing 0 ( it’s ok of course ) but the update time is not changing; seems like the value was taken during the installation and was never updated…
Is it normal? Can I force the reading of the CO level for example every 30 mins?
Thanks!

@Modiac78 welcome to the club.
If I am not mistaken, the update-time will only change if the value is different. This is easier to see on the temperatures.

I think it would be a good thing to test, but I’m not sure how. If we put a candle and the sensor in a closed box, would this generate some CO? There exists a special spray that you can use to test it, but I don’t have it.

@ProfessorHase Thanks for the feedback, I don’t have all devices, so I need feedback like this to know it works.
I tried to get some support from XSense, but they ignore me now.

@freedoc35 it is hard to troubleshoot this, that error isn’t from the xsense-code, but is triggered somewhere else. Would it be possible to turn on debug-logging for the xsense-module and check the logfiles?

@patrick_wago I don’t think it is possible to trigger the alarm from home-assistant. I’m only able to emulate the functions from the app.
Maybe we can emulate a wifi-sensor and trigger the system from there (tell the base-station we detected fire), but that would take a lot of time to figure out.

Thanks a lot Theo for your feedback, I’ll try to trigger in someway the change of CO.
I didn’t say before but I have the SC07-WX.

@theosnel Hey Theo, I have the XS0B-MR and test button is missing in HA (newest version). In the X-Sense App they have test button.

Hello Received my SC07-WX (Smoke and CO2) today and trying to get it setup in HA. I have HACS installed and added the custom repository, and trying to find where to enter my credentials to connect xsense and HA.

You’ll get all the info you need here ha-xsense-component_test/readme/README_en.md at c897106d609dd67cf045dfb6178124b9c4bfe6b2 · Jarnsen/ha-xsense-component_test · GitHub

Prob you need to add the Integration via Settings > Integrations in HA and you can enter your credentials there…

@Modiac78 If you’ll be able to test the CO level change please report if HA update the measure. Thanks for your feedback.

Hi all!
I’m looking at buying the x sense alarm system. I can’t find if there’s any integration for the motion sensors at all. I’m wanting to do light automations but don’t want two sets of motion sensors for rooms. Has anyone made an integration for the motion before I go ahead and buy the system?
Thanks!

Dear all,

I bought some of the X-Sense smoke detectors last year and integrated them to HA recently. This also worked for some hygro-/thermometers (STH51A) which I use outdoors. For rooms I’d like to use the STH0A devices, as I haven’t found any similar high-quality thermometers with display which have long-lasting batteries:

However, after integrating them to HA I can only see battery level and signal strength - obviously not the most interesting part about a thermometer. I have now seen that they are not on the list of successfully tested devices. Anybody has some idea about this?

Best, Michael

@theosnel

For Wyze cameras, check out this fantastic add-on. I’ve been using it for a few months with zero issues. GitHub - mrlt8/docker-wyze-bridge: WebRTC/RTSP/RTMP/LL-HLS bridge for Wyze cams in a docker container

@jonty3 Just checked the motion-sensors: they only seem to be enabled when the alarm is activated. Motion will immediately trigger the alarm. I don’t get any information when it is not enabled.

So unfortunately it isn’t suitable for light automation.

I just pushed a small update for @ZukunftPink. STH0A temperature sensors should now work, just like the STH51.

@Jarnsen Can you make a new HACS release?

Great integration, thank you!

I have an x-sense solar spotlight. It shows the status.

It would be nice to be able to turn it on and off.

Hi all,

Im looking to buy some xsense smoke detectors but cant figure out if the alarm can be triggered with an automation via this integration… is it possible?

Damn, thanks for looking for me appreciate that!
