Excited to finally test out the YoLink Integration
I ordered yolink hub and outdoor temperature sensor for my pool last night. Your outdoor probe/temp sensor is something Iāve wanted for two years to wirelessly get pool temps. I hope this works as I anticipate.
If it works well I see myself using yolink lora relays for an outdoor WLED project
I have tested the integration and Yolink is working with all my current devices below
- Smart Outdoor Alarm Controller & Siren Kit
- Outdoor Motion Sensors
- Smart Motion Sensors
- Smart Window Door Sensors
- Smart Garage Door Sensors
Found 1 issue so far while testing. Whenever I restart HA all my Yolink devices come up as unavailable. In order to make them all available again I have to open and close one of my contact sensors.
Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this problemā¦thanks.
@Eric-YoLink Great step forward on the integration!
Is there an ETA for the local only control integration? I would like to use your product, but will not until local control is available.
One step at a time.
Furthermore, we are not YoLink mass customer base. We represent a tiny tiny percentage of tech-savvy enthusiasts who want to use Lora technology in our home automations and we still get the chance to have one of their staff-member passing our requests to their main office. Local control is certainly a best case scenario when you want to create a future-proof smart home, but still, we have now reached the integration phase. Looking forward for local control, but very enthusiast myself to integrate Lora products in some automations this summer.
Thereās 2 issues with cloud products:
1.) Support, i.e. what if the company goes away, gets tired of the product, doesnāt have the customer base to continue to support it. Realizing that with a non-subscription model cloud based product the only way the company can continue to support existing products is with new product sales. If no one is buying their new products, then their old products will cease to function at some point, itās a simple reality.
2.) The internet is not always stable. Your house can lose itās connection, the company can lose itās, they could have used AWS and AWS US-EAST-1 could go down (AGAIN!) and boom none of your sensors work and now the dog is running free because you didnāt know the gate was open.
1, can be solved with a guarantee from the company that if they go bankrupt their source code was in escrow to be released open source, but Iām not aware of any cloud company thatās been willing to do that.
2, cannot be solved, the internet is still a failing point, Iām not willing to trust the cloud with anything critical.
Non-critical things, Iād consider if they escrowed the code, but not critical components.
@Eric-YoLink I appreciate the work done, keep us updated and once thereās a local control product, Iāve got my eye on quite a few of your products and will be placing an order.
Love seeing all my YoLink leak sensors show up in Home Assistant!
Thank you for pushing for this @Eric-YoLink!
Can we please have the YoLink Valve added next so that Home Assistant can act on it as needed?
And maybe also the SpeakerHub one day?
This is very exciting!
[Edit: this is in the beta version of HA]
Weāve informed HA about this. After a restart, either change the state of one of your sensors (e.g. open a door, activate a motion sensor) or press the Set button on any device, and this will trigger HA refreshing the YoLink connection. Or, wait 30 minutes; they will appear online after 30 minutes.
Valve Controller, very soon. SpeakerHub, is a more sophisticated device and is taking a little longer. We are still working on bringing in full functionality to our Raedius web console. Weāre starting to see some clever applications on a large scale. We have one high rise condo using it as a sort of private address system, with a SpeakerHub in each unit. So, weāre being asked to open up all the same features in the app, as well as the ability to broadcast dynamic messages to individual units, as well as do an āall-callā to all 300 SpeakerHubs in the units. These features will trickle over to HA. I have the same developer, Justin, working on both projects for us.
It is same issue with Konnected. All switches and motion sensors goes unavailable after HA restart!
I just want to chime in as my YoLink Hub, and outdoor probe sensor arrived yesterday, so I updated to HA beta and set it up.
It set up very quickly, but I became concerned when all entities were āunavailableā until I checked this thread, and sure enough they all came back and were reading correctly.
But, Iāve noticed several times throughout the day my lovelace pool temp is āNaNā and the entities arent available, appears to be dropping connection somehow.
I figured I should let someone know, if you need anything else from me like logs or something, let me know.
Even though I just purchased a dedicated hub thatās hardwired, if you make a ālocal onlyā dongle, I will pony up the money for it. LoRa is very promising, and until I found this getting my pool temperature was difficult. So thanks to your company for putting in the time to talk to the folks here way smarter than me to get this going.
Given that YoLink rolls their own silicon now (which appears to be single IC radio and ARM chip), I wouldnāt see supply shortages as an issue.
That helps, but the underlying issues remain. Designing a chip is not the same as manufacturing the chip, but at least they can be assured of getting the entire production run.
Everything else remains slower these days as well.
Learned decades ago not to wait on vaporware for anything that matters.
Better to have what we can now.
Iām testing the Yolink integration now on HA Core 2022.6.0b3 and found out that the API is disconnecting every hours and makes the sensors to become unavailable. Hopefully this will fix on the version 2022.6 when it release.
Here is the error logs Iām getting:
Logger: homeassistant.components.yolink.coordinator
Source: helpers/update_coordinator.py:223
Integration: YoLink (documentation, issues)
First occurred: May 27, 2022, 4:32:09 PM (23 occurrences)

Thanks
Why are the hubs (specially the speakerhub) are not in HA list of Yolink devices? It will be useful for the automation in HA.
Thanks
I just saw this. Iāll pass it along but please use our [email protected] address for support requests. Or you can see if anyone in our developer Discord knows about it. Email me for the invite if youāre not already on there. eric@yosmart
this is coming soon.
what devices do you have?
I have 4 leak sensors, 4 motion sensors, 1 hub and 1 speaker hub. Iāll be adding 4 door sensors and 1 leak sensor.
