the battery level, as a percentage, is available by default. I’m not sure I follow you, if you are looking for something other than that
I just wanted to jump in and say thanks for all the work on the HA integration. There are needs I have that The YoLink product line covers and seeing this thread resulted in me purchasing the first of what I know will be several devices. The integration worked flawlessly last night and I finally have a reliable temp sensor for my swimming pool water. Vibration sensor next to sense if the heater is running!
Came here to say how happy I am by finally seeing this on my tablet dashboard.
Thanks to everyone involved!
Thank you Eric and the team for the excellente work with the integration. In my case I bought a kit with the hub and 2 indoor sensors, and also the alarm less than year ago, at that time I didn’t know about HA I just wanted to turn on/off ligths with my voice and to trigger the yolink alarm at the gate (around 40 mts from the hub) with Alexa or the phone app if I notice something suspicious on camera. I realize that the yolink motion sensors are superior detectin the presence and don’t disconnect like others that I bought later. Now I can control the alarm from the HA interface in the phone and the sensors turn on the lights faster compared with Alexa. I was waiting for this integration also to stop using IFTTT, I use it
to turn off the lights when the sensors stop detecting motion because that function didn’t work well for me in Alexa. Yolink has a lot of options in sensors, valves and garage doors solutions so I’ll look at them to automate not only inside the house but outdoors.
That is great news about adding the new devices!
(I am looking for the Vibration Sensor functionality.)
Do updates to the integration get pushed out separately somehow, or is it part of a .1 release of HA Core?
Would love to use some of the YoLink sensors but local control is a requirement for me. Looking forward to that in the future. Following…
Slick. Thanks
I was very surprised to see it working. There are like 4 walls in between plus it’s below the ground a bit and the signal still says “strong”.
Now I have like 8 leak sensors, door sensors, and motion sensors…
I have just switched to HA integration today from IFTTT and toggling lights based on motion, for example, is now 2-3 times faster. So good!
Vibration Sensor should be there, now.
as far as I know, we’ve been making minor updates as needed.
Very nice. The trifecta of nerd-dom. Home automation, 3D printing, and DIY pool/yard maintenance!
we will release an outdoor radar sensor in a couple months, I saw a pic of it. It only has 20 foot / 6 meter range, but it will offer more reliable detection and false alarm resistance, being unaffected by light or temperature. It will make a great driveway alert, perimeter sensor (we do have a beam detector, reflector type, on the drawing board, also) in addition to general area motion detection.
3 year, projected, lithium battery. Price should be around the same as the OMS Outdoor Motion
I’m pushing for a distance-sensing mode in the device settings. You’d aim it at a RV, boat, other object you don’t want to walk off, and it would keep an eye on the distance to the object. Momentary obstructions would be ignored - you can walk past it - but it if the target object changes distance from the sensor, you get an alert. We’re getting a big demand for parking space sensors, in apartments and condo buildings, so that’s another place I see it being used. If I can come up with more use cases, I can make this happen faster.
Yeah, but pools are inherently cool. I can one-up the nerd factor with smart lawn sprinkler devices. Wireless hose bib type and lawn sprinkler valves are on the way. We’ll see some nerdy stuff there, too. Like using select sprinkler zones to blast human or deer intruders in your yard, automatically, coordinated with motion/radar sensors.
@Eric-YoLink How come the batteries of my 6 month old outdoor motion sensor are still 100% showing on HA? Also when are the batteries for leak sensor coming out to HA?
I don’t know! Put a meter on them and see what the voltage is.
I did not know they weren’t already out. If the leak sensor is compatible it should include the battery level. I will check.
@Eric-YoLink thanks for adding support to HA!
What should be the strategy if you have more than one home? Right now I have two properties(mine, my mom’s) included in the app, but I am not sure if I can configure support for those sensors in HA.
thanks again
Might try adjusting you tag.
