Did you get this resolved? I am not aware of any issues with leak sensors.
I have I few questions:
-
Why alarm strageties donāt let me choose same devices on different strageties? Thats normally how an alarm system would work. For example, same devices for Home and Away mode except for motion sensors ( only on Away mode).
-
Is there a plan for fully local control? D2D is cool but if I only use it this way, the alarm will always trigger if, for example, I open a door or motion is detected, and I will have to shut the siren off manually ( sirens usually are located on an hard to reach place for safety). Local control is key for a security system.
Or can the alarm key fob connect D2D to the siren? For example, to turn off the siren before opening a door, so the siren wonāt trigger.
-
Do you have a product roadmap?
-
Are the locks going to be available anytime soon? I saw on your page that thereās no stock since a while.
Thanks in advance for your time, I hope to hear soon from you.
I have been out of the office and am super swamped but I will try to give you some quick answers on this. BTW, [email protected] is always better and faster than me for helping with tech support type questions.
Itās true you can have a sensor only in one strategy at at time, but toggling/enabling/disabling the strategy does give you two applications/functions (e.g. armed/disarmed); you donāt need two strategies to arm and disarm.
We have a new keypad on the drawing board that will be a literal D2D hub, able to override and orchestrate D2D operations, such as operate your system ānormallyā using the server, but if the internet goes down, power out, etcetera, it goes into offline mode and ensures that if a door is opened while the system was armed, that all the sirens operate.
The fobs can be paired to sirens, or other output devices, so a key press turns it on. And you can pair it oppositely so a key press turns it off. You can not disable it via D2D, so in that case youād have your finger on the button, ready to silence it as soon as it goes off. I can tell you that some customers trying to set up D2D applications in no-internet or unreliable internet situations, whether itās a hunting cabin in the middle of nowhere or some parts of Mexico, what they do is put the Siren Alarm on a smart plug, remove the batteries, and use the plug as an arm/disarm/silence mechanism. You can do that via D2D, from a fob, the Remote (D2D-only) or from a Contact Sensor wired to a button, etc.
Roadmap, yes. Can you see it? No, I donāt want to have to kill you. Top secret.
Locks are having all sorts of issues but I was told next month.
Let me just put this here, since Iām limited on replies. We are developing a line of sensors that will be dual-network, working on Helium or the YoLink network, whatever has the best signal available.
We have not officially-announced this and thatās about all I know. Iām hopeful to see them in time for Christmas, but no promises!
Perfect Eric, thanks so much for the replay. Anything about local hub? Would be really cool to not depend on the cloud for a more reliable integration with home assistant.
This. Iām very much excited to dive into LoRA sensors, but have been burned in the past by vendors promising local connectivity to see it never come to fruition. For me investing in this ecosystem is a non starter till a local hub is out.
I agree - they seem to have a great product dev team as they have rolled out a ton of products in a fairly short amount of time. I hope they are putting the right priority on local control.
If you were talking about the āgarage door controllerā model, I still donāt see this as a supported device in the integration - is there plans to add this?
My exact thinking, in Home Assistant local processing is a must.
Hello Eric, when will the Yolink local control will happen to HA. Because I lost internet connection the whole night yesterday, it means half of my alarm system is offline since it is all Yolink door switches.
Thanks
I added Yolink temp/humidity sensors to my HA because they were the only ones I could find that are suitable for placing in the refrigerator and freezer. I bought their outdoor sensor for the long range (150 foot driveway). I would buy many more of their products if the local hub comes to fruition.
I am told before the end of the year, but I know we need to get moving on this.
Local control hub canāt come soon enough!
I see that it is supported per the list. If you have any issues with it, you can use our normal support channels like [email protected]
we also have a discord for developers and power users. email me for credentials: eric at yosmart.com
+1 on the local hub. I will definitely be buying more sensors once we have a local hub.
Thank you for the update! Looking forward for Yolink local control.
@Eric-YoLink #1 Thank you for working so closely with Home Assistant and the HA community. There arenāt too many vendors who are as easily accessible and helpful as YoLink. It is appreciated!
I am considering joining the YoLink ecosystem. As others have said, I am more interested in a local push solution rather than cloud. When the new local control hub does become available, is it possible that YoLink would provide some kind of a buyback option or discount for those of us who have purchased the current hub?
Have you looked at the pricing of the current hub? You could just throw it out. They practically give it away as it is.
It looks like it is currently $24 on Amazon. Not super expensive, but I wouldnāt say they are practically giving it away. Iād still rather not spend that and then turn around and buy a new hub at full price when they release the local version.
Not to continue to pile on but Iām following this thread just waiting on local control. I love the rf tech itself and anxiously awaiting local control and I will be investing quite a bit in this ecosystem.
