I just installed the Z-Wave JS UI with my Zooz 800. Install is good. I was able to got and include a Z-Wave device through the UI. The device is working. However, I do not see this new device in the Device List with all the other ZigBee and WiFi devices I have. How do I get the new Z-Wave device from the UI to show in the device list of HA?
Install the Z-Wave integration. Without further information about your installation, you’ll need to refer to the docs that are applicable to you.
I have read install Z-Wave JS or Z-Wave JS UI only. I have only installed Z-Wave JS UI. So are you saying I need to install the Z-Wave also? I uninstalled the Z-Wave JS UI and just installed the Z-Wave. Included the device. It shows in my device list, but I really would like to use the JS UI
Did you actually read the instructions? Posting again: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-zwave-js-ui/blob/f8a02dbe8143dad77b5315f49bac9ddc5fcff5a0/zwave-js-ui/DOCS.md#setting-up-the-home-assistant-z-wave-js-integration
You will help yourself by becoming familiar with the basic concepts of add-ons and integrations: Concepts and terminology - Home Assistant
The Z-Wave integration is responsible for adding and controlling devices in HA. One of the add-ons is responsible for running the Z-Wave network. So you want the ZUI add-on and the Z-Wave integration.
Yes I read it however the instruction say to enter a network key in the Z-Wave settings. There is not option for a Network key.
Yes I did that. I also selected the Serial Port of my Z-Wave Stick. The one in the instructions didn’t work. Neither did this one. Now I still have the Z-Wave JS installed with all my Z-Wave devices.
You can’t use both add-ons at the same time. Remove the integration and core add-on and start over.
The Z-Wave nodes will not be lost, these are stored on the controller. You would lose any customization in HA. Battery nodes would need to be manually re-interviewed. If you don’t want to lose any customization or don’t want to re-interview then you’ll have to follow the migration guide. Much more work than simply starting over, but whatever you prefer.
