What is the relationship between ZWave JS and ZWave JS UI ?
I have them both installed. Is that ok ?
For Z-Wave to work correctly:
- The Integration “Z-Wave JS” must be running (Settings → Devices & Services → Integrations)
- One and only one of the Add-on’s must be running, either “Z-Wave JS” or “Z-Wave JS UI” (Settings → Add-ons)
And yes, the names are confusing!

“ZWave JS UI” includes all of ZWave JS, plus a UI (plus a bonus MQTT bridge). I wish they had named it ZWaveJS+.

Should I delete ZWave JS ?
And if you want to run the UI one (which is better, BTW) then DO NOT check the box that sets stuff up for you, because the addon without the UI letters will be auto-loaded and try to take over, really messing things up. This had me confused for a week…
Feel free to vote for this, BTW…
I am not sure what box you refer to ?
Read the WTH above, I explained it better.
If you’re happy using the Z-Wave JS UI Add-on, then yes, you can delete the Z-Wave JS Add-On.
But things won’t work if you delete the Z-Wave JS Integration
