ZigBee Power Strip

hi, can anyone tell me if this will work with home assistant

ZigBee Power Strip Surge Protector Jinvoo Smart Extension Lead with 4AC Outlets and 4USB Ports, Compatible with Alexa & Google Assistant

Check the list

It looks like the one you linked to is no longer available. I’ve been looking at this one, and it looks like the exact same thing from a different manufacturer (not an affiliate link, I promise).

I did look in the Zigbee database, and while that particular Xenon unit is not listed, there are others by Xenon listed, so that’s promising. Also, the reviews on Amazon mention people using it with Home Assistant.

It needs to be uk

I have the Matter over wifi version of these made by useelink, I can recommend them as so far they have been working without issues. The only thing they are missing is per port power monitoring but they do the job as local only smart power strips.

Hi is this the 1 you have

Power Strip Surge Protector, Jinvoo USB Power Strip with 4 AC outlets and 4 USB Ports, PD65W USB-C Power Strip with 5FT Extension Cord, 1700J, Desktop Charging Station for Home Office- White

Good to know. I was confused because your original link shows a US one. Xenon does make UK ones if you want to look on Amazon UK for them:

I have the Australian version of this one. Just scan the back qrcode with the companion app as long as you have the matter integration setup in HA.

The power to the USB ports toggles for all of them, they are not individual.

I don’t have matter hub just zigbee[quote=“TH3xR34P3R, post:8, topic:818010, full:true”]

You just install the matter server integration via the HA addon store, you don’t need another matter hub or thread hub for matter over wifi devices when this is setup a all it need is to see the matter server in HA over your wifi connection of your network.

Ok so I thought needed WiFi on my home assistant which it doesn’t have

Wifi is handled via your router and any access points on your network for the SSID and Passpharse you setup for your main and IoT networks.

Thank you so I just add matter integration and then put power strip into pairing mode and connect to ha

Correct once things are setup with your network and the matter server integration is installed in your HA instance then you just open the companion app on the phone after putting the strip into pairing mode and scan the QR code on the back of it via the add matter device option then select new device.

As stated you only need a thread border router if its specifically a matter over thread device, those that are matter over wifi just care that they can see the matter server on the network when connected to your wifi via the phone setup.

Thanks so much

Sorry to keep repeating myself but just want to double check before ordering, will the linked device also connect

UseeLink Matter Smart Power Strip, USB Extension Cable, Surge Protector for Apple HomeKit, Siri, Alexa, Smart Home Automation, Timer and Schedule, 2.4G Wi-Fi Only, 13A

It’s listed as a matter power strip so yes, its the thin version with only 2 usb ports instead of 4 like the other one linked earlier.

When added this is how they show up in matter:

The controls will be named switch (1) - (5), 5 being the usb ports and 1-4 going from the cable side to the flat edge. I have each socket on my strips labeled with the numbers so I can quick glance at them I I need to use the spare and unused sockets in each room I have them in and then just renamed each with the device connected to them at the time.

Thank you for the confirmation, I can order with confidence now

my plan is not happening as I’ve realised I need at least 5 sockets preferably 6, sorry to waste your time

You can always get an electrician to install a 2 or more gang socket on the wall then use the extension for the extra ports you need.
