Cool thanks. I’m using it in lan mode. Shoe I also fill out topic or is that not needed?
In your topic it says ZigStarGW-9652, how do I know what the numbers are?
I can see that the help file also mentions these numbers ZigStarGW-XXXX.
It was the default value that was there. I didn’t change it. Basically you can write what ever in it as long as the topic is not used by some other device. I think ZigStar has numbers there to automatically differentiate gateways if someone would have more than one.
When the auto Discovery is used (as in my screenshot) the HA will pick up automatically. Considering you have not changed the autodiscovery topic in HA.
And configuring the gateway MQTT is not related to running e.g. zigbee2mqtt. This only enables gateway to send some data.
Below is the important part to Z2M configuration (supervisor addon). Serial is the IP of the zigstar gateway. I used the same user to log in to mqtt server for Z2M addon and the gateway but that is up for everyone’s preference.
mqtt:
base_topic: zigbee2mqtt
user: xx
password: xx
serial:
port: tcp://192.168.2.14:6638
Thanks for all the help, everything is working now.
Hi,issues is still present?
P.S. Was in a long vacation, now back to work.
Is not required, but you can do it,just to have some statistics like uptime, temperature, connection monitoring.
Hi, I’m keen to purchase a LilyZig but New Zealand isn’t an option in the country list on your website. Is my only option Tindie, which currently shows sold out?
Hi Ricardo, is very hard to deliver to New Zealand,Canada and Australia. Is taking very long time, over 40-60 days, also all Express Shipping is very very expensive from 55 EUR and up.
So we was sending out packages to this countries and many of them didnt reach to destination.
hi radu,
i try to follow all the instruction from your website, but i stucked (and very frustrated).
Opsys windows11x64.
i just get the stick v4, but i cant change the IEEE nor write firmware.
“All is OK. Restarting Zigbee…” all the time on the status line of the multitool.
The IEEE is not changing. Nothing happens.
I tried with TI SmartRF Flash Programmer v2, but it cannot recognize the device.
Should light the leds when i put in to usb port? (from your page: 2 LED for indication) where are they and when will they light up? (no mention on your page)
“All ZigStar Sticks and LAN GW are automaticaly entering BSL mode” - this is still true or i should do something?
edit:
i became more confused:)
on your page: “(Boards using CH340E does not support Auto-BSL! )”
my stick recognized as USB-SERIAL CH340. so i need manually to put it into BSL?
thank you!
@kloodHU did you tried to flash only?
Led’s are controled now from Z2M only.
dont be,if you get it from me,then everyhting is working correctly, version with C340E is only for self-assembly available.
Reach me directly and i will try to assist you and will update IEEE address change instruction.
Great work @mercenaruss ! I enjoyed the Zigstar MultiTool so much that I have to buy a Zigstar Lan Coordinator to support your work! One question, I do not have access to a 3D printer, is there any option to buy one online? I am in HK that I am not aware if there are any shops out there providing 3D printing services.
thanks, i ended up repair the devices for the new coordinator. so far all good.
another question: how can i use the stick4’s bluetooth LE in homeassistant on PI4?
Is there a dummies guide to installation of the Lan controller?
I tried to follow the youtube videos but I don’t want to do anything complicated - I just want to replace the Sonoff Bridge with the Lan Controller.
If I can do that without having to re-pair all my devices then that would be great, but to be honest by now I have probably made so many config changes that I am going to have to re-pair everything anyway.
Thanks!
Hi,all you needed to do is to change device port and this is all.
serial:
port: 'tcp://ip_or_hostname:6638'
No repair is required.
Bluetooth is not possible to use(firmware is for zigbee only),you have incorporated Blueetoh in RPI4
FYI - I ordered from New Zealand via Tindie on 14th May, and it arrived a few days ago on 23rd June. I’m used to ordering things from Aliexpress and similar that take 60+ days so didn’t mind the wait for a good solution.
The gateway is working well initially, I’m waiting to get a case printed before switching over all my devices.
I have noticed the “OW temperature” (what is that?) is 85.06 °C. Is that normal?
