2021.10.0: Z-Wave S2 support, Tuya, secure ESPHome and 400 new icons

Hi @mwav3 - As far as I can tell I am on the latest version of everything that is installed, including Zwave JS. After upgrading to Core 2021.10.1 I was no longer able to reach the Integrations page so even if I was on an old version of Zwave I would not have been able to update it. Some integration I have must have conflicted with the update so this is a screenshot of what I currently have:

I believe I had a ton of alexa_media player errors after the core update so I wonder whether that is the integration that conflicted or whether it was just a side effect. Right now the core log only has these couple errors related to alexa:

2021-10-08 09:48:31 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.alexa.state_report] Error when sending ChangeReport to Alexa: INVALID_ACCESS_TOKEN_EXCEPTION: Access token is not valid.
2021-10-08 10:48:46 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.alexa.state_report] Error when sending ChangeReport to Alexa: INVALID_ACCESS_TOKEN_EXCEPTION: Access token is not valid.

I always have a few of these and I can’t figure out what is causing them. I managed to exclude a few of the alexa devices that I don’t want pulled in as they are often unavailable (ie: Auto Echo, Alexa on my Watch4, Kids’ tablets, etc)

When I updated I was working on a grafana graph to pull in humidity from a couple of zwave sensors and it seemed like I was not getting data. Looking into it I realized I could not access the configuration of these zwave sensors, and then realized I could not load the integrations page where I wanted to access the Zwave JS configuration. Alexa also started complaining about things not responding so to avoid complaints from the family I restored to 10.0 immediately

EDIT: Nevermind… I updated again to 10.1 and while I got the same error, it loaded the integrations page after a relatively short delay. Maybe the first time around it got stuck on something, and this time around the issue did not happen again and the integrations page loaded.

Speaking of load times, while my RPI4 seems to be doing ok with everything other than streaming from IP cameras (8MP), the load time is just getting longer and longer. I am sooo tempted to switch to a NUC to see if system bring-up can be sped up and IP cameras (HEVC / H265) can be improved.

Thanks, that did it :+1:

I seem to have run into the missing alarm card icon as well. :frowning:

Seems this release 2021.10.01 is causing some errors. Anyone any ideas?

@alandtse’s custom integration is working fine for me. It took a bit of faffing to get it going, there was some conflict with the original integration, but that was fixable. I used the key from TeslaFi, rather than creating a new one.

Its all fixed for me in the newest release that was just put out.

For all of those that are still holding off with migrating to ZWave JS, i migrated last night and it worked great. All but my motion sensor (Zooz ZSE29) migrated fine and are working fine. I have about 30 Zwave devices

I have to do bunch of renames, which it will not take too long

Good job team!!!

Looks like a bug

Updating to 10.1 worked on my second attempt (seems like it got stuck or was super slow the 1st time around). My logs seem relatively ‘clean’ but I would not mind addressing these:

2021-10-08 12:00:44 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.helpers.template] Template warning: 'timestamp_custom' got invalid input '00:00' when compiling template '{{ '00:00' | timestamp_custom('%H:%M') }}' but no default was specified. Currently 'timestamp_custom' will return '00:00', however this template will fail to render in Home Assistant core 2021.12

I read about this issue but the log doesn’t help me figure out where I need to make the change. I looked at all the entities I created of this type and none give me the option to provide a default value. I am guessing it might be part of keymaster which added a huge number of things to my HASS (I wish it were more ‘compact’ so to speak).

No idea what that webhook is and how to get rid of it… or fix it.

My integrations all seem to take a long time to start (RPI4, 4GB Ram, 512GB SSD). Maybe I should look into a NUC. Even simple helper entities or setting up LIFX bulbs always say that it took >10 seconds.

Roku errors?? No idea what to do about it

This is new. I did not see it before 2021.10.1

If anyone has pointers, I’d love to hear them!

Ok Tuya not broken it turns out .

Apparently though nobody there bothered actually write proper instructions as much of the info is missing.

  1. Before updating to the new HA remove the old tuya apps or you can’t upgrade.
  2. After updating you can add the app without issue.
  3. Follow the directions up to step but when you get to step six they messed up. Smart home Api stuff is added automatically but it’s not everything that needed. Look at the picture and add anything that’s missing to the right side which is normally device status notification and sometimes also authorization .
  4. The rest of the directions are correct with one minor edit. If nothing shows up under all devices your region is wrong. You can edit the project and add the other regions and save. When you go back to all devices you can just change the region tell they show.
  5. Tuya now works as it should

Can you suggest edits to the incorrect docs please?

Just did

Thanks for that!

Upgraded a few minutes ago. TP-Link dimmers are working once again!

Thank you developers

Install Old Tuya in HACS

My problem is when I toggle a Tuya Plug from home assistant the plug will turn On but the toggle will go back to Off . and then to actually turn the plug off, I need to hit toggle to On and quickly hit it again to turn the plug Off.
Might be confusing but I feel that the state of the plug is not reported back to HA correctly?

Thanks for help in advance

Wrong. Yes, the instructions aren’t great, but I managed to get through them and get my Tuya device (just one fortunately) visible in HASS.
The problem is that the new integration doesn’t handle all devices properly. In my case, it’s a Thermostat that needs a scaling factor set - something that the new integration doesn’t do.

Here the answer

Yeah the missing items or broken items we can’t do anything about.

Al i could do is figure out the basic issues with the actually instructions themselves.

Why they just didn’t wait tell all the items were ported over is beyond me.

Regarding the upgrade to the TP Link Kasa integration upgrade - I am excited that this integration finally received some love! But I am confused, as there is an integration alert that suggests NOT to use this integration. Is this alert no longer current?
