2022.11: A heck of a release!

Since upgrading to 2022.11 ZHA has failed to start with reloads of HA (including with the update). A full reboot of the host more often works, but not every time.

Here is a sample log entry relating to the issue:

I’m running HA OS 2022.11.1 installed on a RPi 4. Issue started with 2022.11.

Yes, i upgraded to 2022.11.1 today, noticed 30 minutes ago that my cards with tap actions on pictures (transparent btw.) does not work anymore.
In my opinion this has to be a bug… did you solve it yet withouth changing/reposition images/click spot?

yeah I tend to stay away from Bluetooth because I don’t like them broadcasting. Many devices don’t even require a pin to take control of them or to start blasting porn sounds through the speakers…

Hmmm Adam´s workaround did work, but it´s really weird.
Tried it on one of the images in my dishwasher card (picture elements card), added width: 6% to get the same size on the picture as before.
Does not make sense, but i have seen something similar before when changing a picture but keep the same filename. Even a forced refresh would show the edited picture/file.
Adding ?v=1 behind the filename e.g. redcircle.png?v=1 fixed that earlier.
If you find the bug fixed or a easier workaround than edit all pictures like this, please let me know.
I do the same if found something better.

For some serious more-info graph replacement development

The main history-explorer card is great. This now feeds that to the more-info!
@HeyImAlex thx!

I’m having the same problem.

I use the bond integration and HomeKit, with this update all of my ceiling fans disappeared in HomeKit. I restored back to 2022.10.5 and all of the ceiling fans are back.

While I understand the desire for improving performance but what I don’t understand at all is the obsession with improving performance over loss of functionality.

I honestly don’t care if my pop up card takes a half second to load or 1 second to load if I can’t see the data I need that then requires me to take WAY more time opening up a history graph panel to look at the same data I used to be able to see in one click in a pop-up box.

Yeah, so for me personally the dashboard performance has never bothered me much. While I have a number of dashboards, automating as much as possible remains my focus and for that reason dashboards performance shouldn’t bother me.

A faster backend? Sure, I’ll order 2 of those. I appreciate the effort put into that over the past years and to improve the startup speed (a fringe benefit in my eyes) and loading/sequencing of integrations.

My call-out in the end was to highlight (initially) unsubstantiated claims — on all sides. I’m not saying it might not be true. Of course, there is still a subjective element too, based on expectations.

Good to see the Water consumption added to ‘Energy’ dashboard. Now I just need someone to develop an integration for the Grohe Sense Smart Guard water controller for HA!

Thank you for this – I didn’t think to look there! I guess I’ve become accustomed to having each of the minor releases summarized on the main “new release page” as well. It seems odd to me that the summary isn’t up there.

Was similar for me. At some point I just put a link to this website in my frontend.

Info about 2022.11.1 (already installed) still absent in the blog…

Why?
Is this just too much smart stuff? What on Earth can an online toothbrush provide?

Apparently people use it to shut off all the lights and lock the doors when the brush is activated around bedtime.

We already had the smart toothbrushes (we didn’t seek out the BT part, it was just included in a Costco bundle), and I am not sure I would have gone out of my way to get them. However, It is a sure fire way to know if I am heading to bed and start running routines that sometimes fail and I don’t want to get out of bed to fix. For instance locking the doors, sometimes the kids didn’t shut them completely so the lock fails to engage. I would not know that during my previous bedtime script until I was in bed and would have to get out of bed and adjust the door. Now that can happen while I am still up, but reliably about to go to bed.

I wish my kids brushes were Bluetooth, because if they have brushed is actually hard to figure out sometimes and I could make it into a game with smart lights to get to 2 minutes of brush time with the correct brushing zones!
