2022.9: Home Assistant Birthday Release!

I revieve these messages in logbook but don’t have bluetooth. How to disable this?

ERROR (MainThread) [bluetooth_adapters] Received an unexpected reply from Dbus while calling GetManagedObjects on org.bluez: <dbus_next.message.Message object at 0x7f33df9c0070>

hmm, even after having completely re-installed mqtt, I still see:

in the integrations listing. no entities/devices listed. fwiw, its been there since the beta, and no clearing cache/restart/reboot (even downgrading) fixed it thus far…

all entities and devices are functional, and can be displayed in the frontend, and even filtering them in the entities list works allright

anyone with a suggestion to fix that?

Great update (as always), I would like to add my voice to those calling for the bluetooth tracker to be updated (preferably to also support bluetooth proxies, if possible). Most of my automations rely on knowing whether anyone is at home, for which I use blootooth trackers. The new bluetooth integration is great, but the enhancements all appear to relate to BLE. So for the moment, most of the functionality of my automation has had to be disabled :frowning:

Loving the new Automation layout. One minor suggestion - you have to go into the menu to see and change the execution mode (Single, Restart, etc). It’s fine changing it there, but it would be really useful to be able to see it on the main screen so you can tell what mode the automation is using.

Alex, have you found a solution or documentation?

I went into my automation and set the trigger to “state” and use the entity ID for the schedule I created.

Not sure if its going to work (will see tomorrow as my schedule runs overnight).

The automation changes are nice, but a toggle to expand / collapse ALL areas would be appreciated.

In automation, there is a launch of the mqtt.publish service
After updating today, the automation no longer works.

The automation “In Start HASS” (automation.zapusk_pri_starte_hass) has an action that calls an unknown service: mqtt.publish.

This error prevents the automation from running correctly. Maybe this service is no longer available, or perhaps a typo caused it.

Uddate:
I returned the core version to 2022.8.7 and everything worked fine.

At first, Hello and compliment for the new update!

There are two things I would like to advert.

  • The pull down menu in editor for automations is not usable on tablet.
Because there are not all entries in the list reachable.

  • For the scheduler I like to recommend to connect with Niels Faber.
He made a very, very, good working solution with his Scheduler-Component Integration in HACS.
And the work is already done…!
You can edit the UI in minutes, add options and conditions, schedule-plan and so on.

With best regards, Helmut

I just wanted to pop in and say the new UI automation editor is fantastic. Everything I wanted as I mostly write a lot of my automatons when I am out and about.

Keep up the great work team home-assistant!

That is indeed a very nice custom component. However, it violates out design principles and thus does not fit in our core. You can still use it as a custom integration if you like.

So, running for a day, again: THANK you all! A lot of new things and a lot of simplifying… Very well done job!

And, of course:

I’m loving the new automations update. I’m already in the progress of renaming the summaries and I must say: it makes automations a lot clearer. But I mean… A LOT. Some automation steps where so long that it became a mess sometimes. Not anymore with the collapsing and summary.

However, I’ve not been able to move the actions around. The up/down arrows are gone, but the drag & drop feature doesn’t seem to work on desktop. Is this only working on mobile?

Weekly Schedule UI is rounding schedules to the nearest hour:

No, that works also on desktop. Did you clear your browser cache? We had similar reports in Discord and that solved it (that is anyway always the first step to troubleshoot UI issues).

Maybe I don’t get it, but it is not working for me. Even on mobile.

On Desktop, on Firefox and Edge (chromium), I have cleared the cache and even tried it in incognito mode. No luck there. I’ve also tried it on the HA app on iOS, but when i try to move an action, it wants to select the text instead.

What is going on?

You have enabled drag and drop mode with the overflow button right?

anyone seeing this shaky frontend in the script tracer? I cant even click any menu item in the overflow before its gone

this time it’s not Safari only… Chrome show the exact same issue

Aaaaaaaah yes. Got it. That was the missing piece of the puzzle.
So for people like me who are wondering how to get things moving: Use the re-order function on the top right overflow button, aka ‘the three dots’.

Thank you!

Was trying out an ESP32 as a bluetooth proxy. Can install the code and setup Wifi. The device gets discovered and I add it. After that nothing happens; i.e. I don’t see any BLE devices being discovered. Where can I find the log of what happens on the ESP? What (if any) do I look for in the home assistant log?

Also looking at ESPHome I see the new device as ‘discovered’ and the option is to ‘adopt’. What does that mean?
