Anyone have any experience with 433mhz temperature sensors? I ordered a 433mhz floating pool temperature sensor from eBay just waiting for it to arrive, however I have no clue whether ill be able to get HA to decipher the code received and convert it into a value. Any info would be appreciated.
I’ve seen a lot of people having a hard time to decode the data transmitted by RF weather station. Might be easier if the device just send the temperature (and not combined humidity or other info).
Partybug, are you actually getting the codes for the bunker hill driveway alerts? I have two of them and have been unable to capture the codes with my ESP8266 and 433mhz receiver. I am getting codes from door sensors, fire alarm, key fobs, but nothing from the driveway alerts. Can you tell me if you did anything special with them? Thanks
You can also add RFLink to your HASS server via usb and use the HASS component - or there is a RFLink to ESP8266 project that forwards all the RFLink data to MQTT for digestion by whatever you want that uses MQTT (including HASS)
@tmharris Yes, I use the bunker hill wireless alert system Item #62447. After putting batteries in the pir, I grab the code using a uno programmed with RCSwitch’s ReceiveDemo_Simple. After getting the code I enter it into HA like the other switches.
I am needing to replace my driveway unit after a year and a half of use. I replaced the batteries this winter but it has become spotty. Sometimes I don’t get an alert when a car arrives then it alerts when a car is leaving. If I have to replace the unit every year, it’s still not a bad deal. (I also seal it for the outdoors with silicone sealant.)
@touliloup From the info on the item listing it does just send the temperature value.
@ReneTode I definitely will! It should arrive in the next few weeks our postal system here in South Africa is always delayed.
@phileep Great to know you have something similar working so there is hope! I am definitely going to check out those projects and keep you guys updated.
Well… im using the webserver on the esp8266 and turning on lights using the curl post command. Only problem im facing that my esp8266 randomly getting stuck (doesnt respond to ping commands and cannot connect to webpage).
I followed a tutorial and could successfully communicate between my Arduino +5100 shield. I don’t have ir transmitter nor receiver… But I receive ir signals. Is there a special setup without ir as the blog with my setup has been removed.
One question:
Has anyone found a 433Mhz light switch that also sends a signal?
I would very much like to have the correct state in HA when the light switch is triggered manually.
I add the Kerui P829 motion sensor to the list ($11,88):
In normal operation you can set it up to report movement repetitively every 5 seconds or 5 minutes (will report movement immediately, but then wait 5s or 5m until re-reporting movement).
it will blink red every 3s as soon as the power pass under 2.4V and send a low voltage signal.
It also send a signal when the battery cover is opened.
You can also deactivated the red led that illuminate the detector when movement is detected. It’s not so important for alarm but can be useful for home-automation (you can see that led ON on the first photo in the following album)
The cheap remote control that can be found on Aliexpress for ~3$ also works great:
They are programmable, you can set the code transmitted by each button by making the remote learn an emitted code (I’ve used the gateway to send a code and teach it to the remote)
Here is a list of the compatible device up to now:
The list is editable if someone else want to add his own device.
Maybe to add a link to it in the first post would help to maintain visibility of the whole topic @Partybug
