Just to confirm, do you mean that it does not matter if the band is identified as “Xiaomi Band” as long as is paired into Zepp app?
Thanks again!!

It worked for me 2 weeks ago like this. Let me know if you can install the ha-zepp app and if everything works accordingly.
Ok, i got install zeus cli… Maybe this is too much to ask, but how do exactly build the ha-zepp source code??
Can you please be a little bit more explicit?
I think i have to create a new project through zeus, replace the files with yours, and then scan it.
Is it right???
Provided you have git and Zeus cli installed:
Git clone https://github.com/ga2mer/ha-zepp
Zeus preview
Should generate a QR code for you.
YES!!! I got this working, amazing!!
Great work you did! Congrats!
I have to say, since i am not familiar with app development, that i have struggled to achieve it. Because of this, i have write this up to help my community to install your brilliant app. Feel free to use it as you consider (i think i may be helpfull to common users).
Also, i would like to make some suggestions to improve it:
Thanks a lot!!!
Credits go to the repository owner, I added some features and shared it here
It might be all a bit overwhelming for the non-technical users. Nice documentation, this will for sure make it easier for those type of users.
Can you please tell me how can i add more than one entity? When i add a new one the other dissapears… i triyed also sepparated by comma… Thanks!
The UI of the settings page is very buggy. But it’s only visual bugs. When you enable a number of switches (e g. 1st, 3rd and 5th from top to bottom) in a list of entities, the new list that you obtain (even with totally different entities), will have the same switches (1,3,5) enabled.
However, this does not mean those entities are enabled. You can just uncheck and check the switch, and it will enable that entity.
I tried to fix it a few weeks ago, but noticed it might be a bug in the zeppos system. I don’t have the time to further investigate atm.
Me and some members of aguacatec community are triying to improve this app, digging into the code. I think this is very promossing, you are more than welcome to join us
Nice! Any help is appreciated. You can make a pull request if you’ve made any changes with your community. I will join the telegram page
We have created this fork to test our changes. For now, we are trying to improve the interface, the settings page, the installation process… and adding supported devices (testers are welcome)
I will keep an eye on it! Would be especially nice to have a better settings page.
Hi, after my smartwatch with wear os and home assistant app broke, I am interested in buying an amazfit band 7 precisely because I can use it to activate switches or scripts. I haven’t understood it correctly…
once the Zepp alternative app is installed and the developer options are activated, it appears to download the ha-zepp app from the store? If its so, you have done a great job.
Or do I have to create it myself? I would like to know before buying it. Install app by building on device? Do all the files on this GitHub have to be installed in Home Assistant custom components or via hacs? Or what are those files for? Once the access token is in place, I don’t know where… do all the devices from ha appear in the app? Is there a favorites option? Thanks in advance …
Many doubts, a YouTube tutorial would be perfect
You can follow the steps here:
No alternative or modified zepp app required for Amazfit Band 7, that was only for the Xiaomi Mi band 7 (not anymore though). I can recommend the Amazfit Band 7.
The app is very basic and allows you to select a number of entities (not all types supported) that are placed in a scroll list (e.g. light, switch, service, automation, media_player).
You have to clone the repository and build it yourself. It does allow for some technical knowledge, but the Zepp documentation is very clear.
I don’t have the time to create a YouTube tutorial atm unfortunately.
Would this work with a Xiaomi Band 8? It seems it’s based on FreeRTOS instead of ZeppOS. Although it seems ZeppOS is also based on FreeRTOS.
I don’t think so, this is all based on an architecture developed by Zepp. Xiaomi’s Mi band 7 does use zepp-os underlying, but made its own customizations. It seems that they are moving away from Zepp in the Mi Band 8 and future devices.
Fair enough. My wife prefers the look of the Xiaomi band over the Amazfit band. I’m happy to just get the 7 for now. I’m personally using the OG Amazfit Bip and am thinking of upgrading to the Amazfit Active.
Are climate & fan entities supported in ha-zepp?
