Aqara FP1E

The pull request for its support was merged yesterday, so ZHA support for the FP1E should be in one of the upcoming releases.

In the meantime the quirk I posted in this comment will work with the current 2024.11 branch of releases: [Device Support Request] Aqara FP1e (lumi.sensor_occupy.agl1) · Issue #3294 · zigpy/zha-device-handlers · GitHub

So is the Cookbook section of this forum, as well as the search function. Your question is the most frequently asked Z2MQTT question here.

lol… sure I suppose if you know what you need to ask or are looking for otherwise… just a very deep rabbit hole.

So, literally the same as ChatGPT?

Ps- Happy Birthday

You threw me for a loop when you said, “Happy Birthday.” Funny, you should mention that. It is a year since I started with HA. Then, a few months back, I switched to Homey, and now on my “birthday" I am switching BACK to HA - weird coincidence. To make it even MORE weird, my real birthday is the first of December

For some, I guess ChatGPT could take you down a rabbit hole. I guess, yeah, but for me, it never fails to help me find a path to the answer. In this case, or what I commented about above, it clearly gave me the answer to my question straight away without having to go digging around in forums and websites.

My bad. Should have said “Happy Cake Day” or “Happy Anniversary”.

Looks like it’s been exactly 1 year since you joined:

If someone I didn’t know said " Happy Anniversary " I would be getting the sweats and bricking it thinking that I forgot about my wedding anniversary (again)

Maybe I jumped back in too soon

So I bought this again £40 BF deal tempted me back in. Paired up nicely but no presensence entites

Skimming back over the thread and am I right in thinking that Z2M is better supported than ZHA ?

Cheers

Hmmm. Got mine yesterday and all works fine w Zigbee2MQTT.
Plug’n play basically.

Are you guys all up to date with HASS ?

No hub btw.

Would be interested to see if the same options show up in ZHA come time if anyone has tested it or is able to test it now that all that is showing up in Z2MQTT.

Got mine today, paired via ZHA. Pairing was successful, but all sensors it got is firmware, identify button, rssi and lqi.

I added the custom quirk for the sensor and now I am having all needed sensors

But as soon I do not move within the room the presence sensor switches back to free. So right now its quite useless.

Hi,

What custom quirk ? Do you have a link please ?

Thanks

Looks like support for the FP1E has been added to ZHA with the December patch!

When you say the “December patch”, do you mean Home Assistant Core 2024.12.0 or are you referring to something else?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I can see the quirk has been merged into the dev branch not into master

It’s now included in Core as of 2024.12 (also see the master release notes including the PR Release 0.0.125 · zigpy/zha-device-handlers · GitHub :slightly_smiling_face:).

Note that if you’ve been using the draft quirk in your custom quirks folder you’ll need to remove it after upgrading to 2014.12.x for ZHA to start correctly.

Confirmed FP1E working in ZHA.

These are the entities:

I tried setting motion sensitivity to Medium (default is High) and got an error, probably a minor tweak needed in the code:

Thanks for catching that @thermseekr, I’ve raised PR Address incorrect attribute type error when changing Aqara FP1E presence sensor motion sensitivity by jeverley · Pull Request #3598 · zigpy/zha-device-handlers · GitHub to correct this and allow changing that setting.

Let me know of any other issues, aside from that sensitivity setting everything else should be operating correctly.
