Hello everybody
Version 1.3.0.6 is out.

Release date: 12 March 2019

  • updated German localization
  • fixed gray out issue with picture-entity cards
  • NEW: added Bluetooth HFP MQTT sensor
  • NEW: added Bluetooth A2DP MQTT sensor

What can you do with HFP / A2DP mqtt sensors:

  • will provide the last Bluetooth device connected to your phone HFP / A2DP
  • will provide location (if possible to retrieve) when a device connects / disconnect to your phone (useful for example to find location of your car, headphones etc)
  • will provide last known timestamp of the connection.

Please test it and let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Hi,
Can you please add the option to choose or de-activate localization?

I find that using local language instead of the base English often just makes things more confusing and hard to find, since the translations are not always obvoius when changing settings etc.

Also one suggested change to the Swedish localization:
Settings->Common
Right now you are using the word “Vanlig” which means ordinary.
I suggest using the Swedish word “Generella” (General in english), alternatively “Gemensamma” (Common in english).

Hello,
Thank you for the suggestion, i will add such support.
Regarding improper translation, if you want, you can also help translation using files from here: https://github.com/MCrissDev/Ariela

I want to second this, also because if there are any instructions or discussion about errors, it’s almost always in English.

This is why my phone and computer are also in EN-US locale, even though I’m patently not.

When you begin to give support to custom cards? I use everywhere custom-card so i am still unable to use Ariela.

@lonut Fantastic app my friend. I see this one becoming the defacto standard for android mobile HA access. It has replaced owntracks and HTML5 notifications already and with some MQTT alarm control panel integration I imagine it will replace my app for that also.

I do have one small (I think) request for now. Any chance you could put in an “Exit Ariela?” confirmation when using the back button in android is going to exit the app instead of going back one page in the history? (I’m using it with the Web UI option and lovelace). It’s very easy to lose track of how many pages deep you are and I often unintentionally end up closing the app. An option could be put in the settings to disable this for those that prefer not to use it.

Also, when upgrading to pro… is it possible to save all the settings from the free version when upgrading? That was kind of a pain and little unexpected.

All in all, fantastic job mate! Can’t wait to see what else you end up doing with it.

Plan for now is to support all official lovelace cards. After that point custom lovelace cards will be implemented.

Thank you very much, i am glad you like the app.

Yes, i could add such option and also a setting to enable / disable this feature.

Well it can be done but this will mean that Ariela will going to need read disk permission and some users will not want to give that permission so for the moment i do not have in plan to support this.

Anyway, thank you very much for the nice words, i really appreciate and makes me very happy .

People who are giving an app permission to control their entire home are scared to give it file permission on their phone? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round I guess. Minor one time bump in the road, I understand your time is better spent elsewhere. Thanks for the reply!

I think i can have an option like export settings and import settings but i will have to see how i can implement in the setup process. Still, migration data is a good idea and i will add it to my TODO list.

Hi Ionut,

Can you add support for official lovelace ui plant card?

Thank you

Hello,

Yes i have in plan adding this in the near future.
Best regards,
Ionut

HI trying to understand the device tracker portion of the app.
I have it turned on and set to 1min and 50 metres and looks good but it does not update home and away within the time specified i.e. I can be home ore away for some time until eventually updates, turning on and off updates immediately ?? any ideas
Thanks

If you want to increase the accuracy of the device tracker try to set your Home WiFi’s also.
Also, if your phone connect to the home wifi when you arrive home / disconnect from wifi , sometimes it can take up to 2 minutes to send the new updates.

Yes already using wifi as well but was hoping the built in device tracker in Ariela would work before the Wifi does i.e. with 50 meters of home. When you look at the Airela tracker it shows no update for upto 4 or more hours. Turning on and off forces the update
