Where did you put the component. I have put the files in a cwww2 folder in the esphome config folder which is where I believe that he has said it goes but I get an error:

Failed config
light.cwww2: [source /config/globe_front_door.yaml:44]
  Platform not found: 'light.cwww2'.

Read the comments in my yaml carefully, there you’ll see

/config/esphome/custom_components/

Cheers for replying.

Yep. Saw that. Have the cccw2 folder in /config/esphome/custom_components/

Tried to restart the ESPhome container. Still throws platform not found: light.cwww2

Now working. For my setup it needed to be /config/custom_components/ (no esphome folder)

Has anyone had experience with kogan SmarterHome heaters? Thinking of getting one of these to mount outdoors:

Keen to know if anyone has used these or any of the other SmarterHome heaters, and whether they integrate to HA through Tuya.

So answering my own question from a few months ago, I just tried a Stitchy switch and a Stitchy dimmer (Zigbee modules) in HA with a ConBeeII USB stick and the DeCONZ addon. Paired successfully first time and showed up in Deconz no problems. There’s a min dim switch on the dimmer module that I needed to prevent flickering below 25 / 255. Other than that all good! The response time is very fast although I only have 9 zigbee devices on my network.

They are physically larger than say Fibaro Z-Wave devices, and Shelly. Here’s some photos compared to a Shelly 2.5 and Shelly 1. They seem very well made with sturdy plastic enclosure compared to say a Sonoff mini, and I quite like the unterminated fly leads as opposed to screw terminals. Oh yeah and certified for use in Aus!

i got the 4 pack … flashed and integrated in HA in about 15 mins … with coffee too

How much do they cost per unit?

That’s my question too. Reluctant to get a price only after becoming a member.

Anyone seen these? Not available till July 20th in NZ tho.

Hi, Just thought I’d add that I went with a sonoff RF bridge. Was hoping I could have the bridge ‘learn’ the remote. No joy, at least via the native app.

Did you flash your broadlink to learn the remote codes? Did you follow any particular procedure to have bridge learn the remote?

no, didnt do anything special with my broadlink. just used the method below i found on the forums to learn the codes

Reboot HA - very important
In e-control app on icon add a new remote user-defined
Click + icon
Press save
Long press new button
Learn single
Press “Sweap Frequency”
Long press button on RF remote
In HA goto dev tools/services
Add server broadlink.learn and enter host: 192.168.0.242
Press call service
Short press button on RF remote
A notification willl appear containing the code.

Every time you learn a new code you will need to start HA.

$115 + GST. About the same as Fibaro Z-wave gear.

Thanks mate, I might have to flash my RF bridge by the looks.

Does anyone have a ESphome config for the arlec grid connect PC399HA?
I’ve just got mine opened up ready to flash since tuya-convert doesn’t work for it. Also do I have to remove some capacitor for it to work? I thought you just had to short GPI00 to grnd during boot.

cheers.

I flashed the Sonoff RF bridge with Tasmota and don’t see the RF codes from the remote in console. Not sure why. If it works with Broadlink, should it not work under Tasmota?

im not sure with tasmota/sonoff rf, it may be possible

but broadlink has its own integration with a service call of broalink.learn, so the app is learning the code and just passing it back to home assistant. not sure how it would work for you

May I ask how on earth you got that diffuser off?
There’s no gap of any sort to pry it open and it LOOKS like it’s bigger than the hole that it’s in.

Hahaha, yep, it was a mission at first. I initially tried to pry it out with a small screwdriver but the plastic is really soft so I ended up slightly damaging that one… don’t use a screwdriver.

The solution was to enlist the help of my girlfriend for a second set of hands. I basically tried to bend the outer rim back on itself in one area enough to get the diffuser to pop out of the slot it sits in (you might think you are going to break it but it doesn’t…) just enough for her to slide something under it (use a credit card or similar) and then you can just pull it straight out

Thanks! I guess I need to get a girlfriend

OK, I Got it… But I certainly bent the plastic a bit… hopefully it bends back.

Mine seems slightly different.
