Australia - Electrically Certified Hardware

…which probably voids the certification.

Interesting,
as home assistant users we all dabble with projects that would de certify most things. Wouldn’t flashing Tasmota onto any device be just this? I like this forum knowing that the people who contribute have an understanding of the purchasing limitations of OZ. Sure there are boundaries pushed but we have some very qualified people here providing good advice as to how to avoid the magic smoke.

I have that one. I managed to OTA flash in January… To tasmota.(so it may not still be possible, and would be a tuya device instead)
Doesn’t have individual tactile switches or power monitoring.
It does hold its state per socket on power outage though.
The tactile switch it does have… Works by clicking once, turns on socket 1, double click socket 2, triple click socket 3, four clicks for socket 4. Not overly difficult. Can also just turn them off individually in HA lovelace.

This lists power monitoring…

I haven’t seen many power monitoring multi boards. Might be more common as esp32 find their way into more devices.

Kogan is selling them, must be certified?

Leaves warehouse in 2-4 business days.

This item is located outside Australia

Hey thanks @HasQT I have several of the Arlec but didn’t know you could cycle through state with the one button! I’ll test mine again; for some reason I thought they lost state after loosing power.

As with what Ryan has stated with the item coming from overseas, it seems a little suspect on the certification.

HI all,

I have an Amazon Fire HD10 that I want to mount it on the wall, I went to get a nice mount from MBMounts makesbymike.com , they look great but USPS won’t ship to little ole NZ.
Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a nice mount from?
Sorry a little off topic but everyone one here is bloody helpful
Cheers

I recall seeing a post where a dude was 3d printing mounts for standard tablets. But as to where I saw it and even if it was in this community I couldn’t say.
Might be your new secondary business?

I would have to get the missus to approve the 3d printer purchase, that will be an interesting conversation!

Search online for someone nearby that does 3D printing for people. If you can find a suitable mount somewhere like Thingiverse then they should be able to provide a quote via email.

done that, it costs 4 times the price than Vidabox, bloody expensive

The other option is to use a mail redirect service.

Where in NZ are you Brent, I have a US drop shipping account. I am in ChCh.

EDIT: I just clicked on that site and a banner came up saying I could shop in NZ$ and have shipping to NZ. I haven’t actually ordered anything to check though.

The guys I ordered it from said he couldn’t post it, I could get UPS or another courier company but was around $60US the USPS just won’t ship to NZ, I guess there aren’t enough/any flights?
in Auckland, not willing to pay that much.
I’ll keep searching, Vidabox has some for around the same price but don’t come with the 240v to 5v 2.5A to USB converter, will need to look on Aliexpress

FALSE ! The TP-Link plugs DO NOT require you to void the warranty by changing firmware or opening them.
That is the main advantage over the majority of tuya based plugs on the market.

Guys has anyone found a AU certified security sensor light that can also be integrated into HA (direct or reflash) ?

I searched this thread and did not see anything mentioned yet…

The KP115’s don’t work in Guest mode. I stumbled upon a list somewhere of what will work with HA integration using guest mode and what ones won’t.

Absolutely no idea why some of their products will work with HA using the Guest mode route and yet other products have to be added into Kasa first. Must be something to do with whatever hardware is in the newer devices.

I have a mount from that guy, had it shipped over 6 months ago to Sydney. Would be happy to forward one on to you from here if you like.

I am using a small xiaomi motion sensor mounted under the eave which switches on a Hue bulb. Working well so far.
