DETA uses a WB3S module. Going to try and cloudcut it with OpenBeken and see how that functions, then probably chip swap to a 12F and test that out. Will report back.

Running LibreTuya-ESPhome on these Deta Series2 devices is very easy. You might want to check it out. :sunglasses:

not having much luck so far with serial flash or cloudcut lol, not sure why investigating further

Well, Iā€™ve posted this elsewhere, but does anyone have experience with the zigbee version of this?

About the only architrave solution I can find for virtually zero space to put somethingā€¦

If you find them cheaper than $54 or on AliExpress, please let me know

And the link to where you can get themā€¦
(cheapest Iā€™ve found)

Search this thread for ā€œMercatorā€ it has been discussed. Some positive, some negative.

Got it, the WB3S is a bit more finicky with timing on reboot to flash the module then ESP. Have the DETA 6014HA flashed with OpenBeken. I will document a device teardown and work on the config setup and submit to Elektroda shortly.

Ok there is now a Cloudcutter profile available for the DETA 6014HA switch so they are able to be OTA flashed

SHELLYS and GPOS?

Question: Iā€™m currently using Arlec Smart Plug-in sockets on my GPOs to monitor energy consumption of devices. It works but my wife isnā€™t a fan of all the extra plugs hanging out of the wall sockets.
I was wondering if it might be possible to use any of the Shelly range with standard Australian GPOs? I realise the typical use case is installing the Shellys behind switches but does anyone have any thoughts on if you could use them to monitor power behind a GPO? Iā€™m not even that interested in being able to switch the sockets but rather but use the Shellys for out-of-sight monitoring.

I have 3 of them.

relay is audible when pressed or remotely controlled.
when on, there is a white light emitted from the small hole.
Prefer these over the full plate versions as they have a button to actually press, not just capacitive touch.

If the mercator GPOs were reliable iā€™d probably do my whole house with mercator gear, but having many issues with the GPOs, none with the light switches so far.

Shelly 1PM measures power
I use a couple for this.
Main use is behind a builtin microwave so I can cycle the power to reset it when it gets its knickers in a knot but it also measures the power.

@Borto it was suggested to me earlier in this thread to use a plug with an extra switch to control the Shelly. Example

That way you get local control of the Shelly still.

@tinglis1 - thanks. Thatā€™s exactly what I was looking for. Not the result I wanted but the data I needed

Just wondering who has used the clipsal wiser iconic zigbee smart switch?

PDL356PB2MBTZ-VW_IOP-def_WD_web

The iconic stuff has a different mechanism to hold the the switch into the plate (itā€™s a slide to lock mechanism) instead of the normal tab that all the ā€œnormalā€ clipsal and deta etc switches use.

Iā€™m wondering how well the above pictured module will fit into a ā€œstandardā€ faceplateā€¦ Anyone tried this?

Pretty sure it doesnā€™t. It is only compatible with the Iconic range of plates.

Yep it doesnā€™t. I donā€™t mind the look of the Iconic stuff but damn the plates are cheap pieces of shit.

Cheap how, flimsy?

Because the price certainly isnā€™t cheap.

Yes flimsy with way too much flex. And the locking mechanism for the mech is also too flexible and allowing to use.

how did you find the oz smart dimmer? did that fit in the wall switch box area or did you install it in the ceiling?

I second this, they must be bottom of the range for Clipsal, horrible actuation feel (not tactile), and the skin / face plate is really plasticy.

The Clipsal Iconic switches actually have a large range of switch cover plates. I believe the ones youā€™re describing are the cheapest entry level plates, however they have more expensive - better quality plates. Iā€™ve installed heaps of those switches and can say they are quite reliable and well built.
This is a link to the better quality range
