Can't fetch versions

Had this exact issue when we were running HassOS 3.7.
I started home assistant from the start and just restored from snapshot and was able to upgrade to HassOS 3.8.

Now HassOS 3.9 is out I have the same issue.
Any ideas? I copied the GitHub link into my browser and it started downloading it so must be an issue with the Pi and my network but the Pi is connected and able to fetch things from the internet…

I’ve NEVER seen an update to HassOS before…

I’ve just recovered from a couple of days of Home Assistant mayhem (dodgy SD card I think) so I daren’t click either button in case it borks my setup.

Same issue, any luck with a fix.?
Thanks

That card update to HassOS is new I believe.
I’m trying to keep up to date with HassOS because it will hopefully fix the bluetooth tracking issue the Pis (and everyone else it seems) are having

I have been searching and see others with the same issue.
You on a Pi too?

Apparently it works from the CLI:

CLI method is not working for me either.
~ $ hassio hassos update
Processing… Done.

Error: Unknown Error, see logs
~ $

I could update several addons without issues but updating HassOS always fails with:

20-02-08 11:01:07 WARNING (MainThread) [hassio.hassos] Can’t fetch versions from https://github.com/home-assistant/hassos/releases/download/3.9/hassos_rpi2-3.9.raucb: Cannot connect to host github.com:443 ssl:None [Try again]

Currently running on versions:
~ $ hassio hassos info
board: rpi2
boot: null
version: “2.12”
version_cli: “16”
version_cli_latest: “16”
version_latest: “3.9”
~ $

I’ve got the exact same issue running in a proxmox vm on an intel NUC.

CLI update just ends in Unknown Error.

Looks like a DNS error from the error message.

Same issue here. Everything works when i download the file from the web brower.

It seems like it is taking near exact 5 minutes to get the exception. It looks like some kind of timeout. The file were downloaded in way below a minute in my browser.

I did not work from CLI. Almost the same error.

Processing Done.

I tried at a later time and everything worked like it should. From UI. I don’t think I got any network issues. Everything is up and running except from that call. The call took 7 seconds now. This makes the issue kind of transient…

It is still failing for me. Non of the methods worked till now. Anyone else seen any success?

The reboot several times method got me to 3.9 but I had to import via USB to get to 3.10…

Can you explain how you updated it using USB drive?

Somehow is update automatically now. Just rebooted using server management and tried update from UI again, this time it worked without any issue.

That’s what happened to me to get to 3.9

Are you running the Pi-Hole addon? Maybe it’s the same issue as this one?
