Expose native HA timers to Google Assistant

Please add support for:

“OK Google, how long left on <<timer that HA created + runs independently of Google>>”

That is - expose native HA timers, to Google; just as we expose many other device classes.
(camera, climate, cover, fan …etc.)

Can’t we do this already? … read on
HA itself can start / manage timers (i.e. Timer - Home Assistant).

At the moment we cannot expose these timers to Google Assistant - it’s not a listed option here:

Is this for a valid reason that I do not understand; have we tried and failed?
Is there a workaround - can we expose the remaining time as some other device class?
