It was slightly scuffed on my end. At the end of the session, these sensors were unavailable:
- Pit stops
- Team radio
- Overtake mode
- Session time elapsed
- Session time remaining
- Straight mode
- Time to 3-hour limit
- Investigations & penalties
It was slightly scuffed on my end. At the end of the session, these sensors were unavailable:
Seems to be that a live race delay timing bring set caused these sensors not to update. Once I set mine up zero, they almost instantly updated. I then put the delay back because of my lights. After that the sensors seemed ok.
Weâll see next week.
It was awesome seeing the lights go on during the race. Except the green light didnât turn off, so had to do that manually. Time delay worked well, hopefully it was a one-time thing to do.
Yes, that is the plan as soon as I find some time to do it.
There is nothing unusual about that, it reflects how it works in reality. Session status is not dependent on track status. Track status only describes the condition of the track itself, and when a red flag ends it will often first go to yellow and then to clear.
This does not translate directly to session status. The track is not necessarily red for the entire time the session is suspended. You can clearly see this for example before a session starts, where the track can be clear long before the session actually begins.
It is difficult to make it adaptable for every situation, unfortunately. These cards take up quite a lot of space, so the best approach is probably to only display the most important information if screen real estate is limited.
Who are you talking to, and about what?
You are absolutely right that this data is not available yet. There have been many reports that sensors and cards are not updating correctly, so I first need to verify that and determine whether it is a limitation in Home Assistant, how it handles updates, or what is causing it.
Until everything is working properly as it is now, I will not add any additional data.
I do not think that data is available in the API.
Now the first race weekend of the 2026 season has passed, and I want to thank everyone for the engagement and interest in my little hobby project. Over the winter I have worked hard on many updates and new features in the project, and this weekend was the first real test of everything.
It is not surprising that not everything works perfectly, and quite a few issues have been reported on GitHub, which I am grateful for.
I will now start reviewing each reported issue to understand the cause. Unfortunately, some comments and issues contain very little information and are difficult to work with. For example, reports like âit does not work with X or Yâ do not give me much to go on. Because of the time it takes to investigate these things, I will need to prioritize issues that are clearly described, are likely to be actual bugs in the integration, and contain enough information for me to work with.
If you want to help, please comment on an existing issue on GitHub if it relates to the same problem, or create a new one with as much information, background, and logs as possible. That gives me the best chance to investigate and fix it.
I have been testing the Replay function, that is fantastic. The only thing I noticed is that the 2 timers session elapsed time and session remaining time seem to keep up running after pausing the replay (everything else seems to halt as expected).
It´s a bug that will be fixed in next release
Can anyone walk me through how to load and replay previous races? I have been unable to figure this out. There doesnât seem to be any confirmation that you have successfully started a replay. But I also donât any of the replay entities listed under my F1 Sensor install. Including sensor.f1_replay_status which I think would report back if I have started a replay? Thanks!
Update I found replay_status. It appears maybe I have successfully loaded the session. But not sure how I start it nor how I know if it is actauly playing. Clicking on play icon of media player doesnât seem to do anything?
Hi @ctweber01, Have you read the documentation?
Hello Niklas.
AGAIN: You did/do a great job. Last weekend we could test our light automation. It works great. In the 3. practice there was a short commercial break on SKY Germany, but the light changed to yellow. After the break we saw why
.
Absolute fantastic. On Sunday at the race, the lap times did not changed as quick as on TV or the time or stuck. But I think, you will be able to fix it.
We are already looking forward to the next race weekend. ![]()
Thx a bundle
All replay management is available in the F1 system sensor (configuration sector). It works like a charm.
Hi @Ronny1978
I have been on a weeks vaccation so development of the cards is a litle bit slow, but I am making process. The Qualificatino card will be in the release tomorrow
And now I am working on this Race card ![]()
This is brilliant, thank you for that!
@Stimo, amazing work getting bug fixes out between 2 back to back race weekends, I fully expected to have to use beta versions to test fixes this weekend. I guess itâs a testament to how good replay mode is for bug testing.
I did buy you a couple of coffees earlier to show my appreciation for the work you do.
On another note, Iâve noticed my TCL tv running Kayo Sport doesnât report the play/paude state correctly in HA, so Iâm trying to look at how I can update the Replay state sync blueprint to accommodate for those devices.
If you could possibly put a call out to users to list what device connected to home assistant theyâd watch replays on, as well as what service (Kayo, Now TV, Apple TV+ etc). Iâd love to see from the developer tools, their play and pause state. Them Iâll see if I can make the blueprint more universal
@Stimo amazing news, youâre famous. Youâve made it onto Reddit in the r/formula1 Subreddit
Maybe go introduce yourself
OMG, never ben on Reddit. Is that a good thing to be there? ![]()
Um, in my eyes, ended up in there organically without you having posted yourself, is ABSOLUTELY FREEKING AMAZING. many eyes in the official F1 subreddit, as about 1.7m people follow that subreddit. The post already has 70 upvotes and 84 shares which is pretty good.
Have you seen a small uptick in installs in the last 14hrs?
Thanks, maybe I need to create an account myself and say hello there
I just need to figure out how Reddit works first.
It is hard to say whether I have noticed any real change. I do not measure installations, and I am not even sure if that is possible. What I can monitor is version downloads, but since I released a new version yesterday, that number will naturally go up.
We will have to see over the longer term. Normally there are around 5.5k downloads, so letâs see whether that exceeds the usual level over the next week or two.
