Home Assistant and Proxmox 7.3 - web UI no longer accessible on 8123?

Hi,

I have a Home Assistant instance, running as a VM on Proxmox.

Background:

• Around 1-2 days ago, I tried upgrading the Home Assistant Supervisor via the web UI - the update didn’t seem to take - it either hung, or silently failed.
• Just now, I upgraded the hypervisor from Proxmox 7.2 to 7.3 - and then restarted that node.
• The Home Assistant VM is configured to boot automatically on Proxmox startup.

Anyhow, after the Proxmox node restarted, the HA VM did start up, seemingly successfully.

However, I can’t seem to access the HA web UI on the normal port (8123) - it simply says connection refused.

(To be clear, I’m not sure if the Proxmox update itself caused this, or if it was simply the reboot of the VM).

I did check port 4357, and it seems to be healthy from there:

I then connected to the VM console, and logged in as “root” (no password, which I believe is the default?):

Does anybody have any idea what is going on, or why HA is “healthy”, but I can’t access the web UI anymore?

I wasn’t able to SSH to my HomeAssistant instance - even though I had the SSH plugin enabled. (I assume this is because whatever broke HomeAssistant, also meant the SSH plugin didn’t run properly?).

Which means I can’t do things like try to SCP over snapshot/backup files - scary!

I should probably look at how to do automatic remote backups with HomeAssistant etc.

This had the instructions to fix my issue - namely:

curl -o - https://version.home-assistant.io/update-supervisor.txt | sh

After I ran this, it seemed to pull some new Docker containers, which updated my HomeAssistant supervisor - and then I was able to connect to the HomeAssistant web UI again (port 8123).
