Great ; most devs behind integrations have no issues assisting people.
Hey @DuckDuck25
Thanks for the tutorial, following it right now
I can’t post on the website I got an error saying that I’m a robot on multiple browsers
The postscript link should be updated for the one from this link:
Yes, this upcoming holiday weekend I’ll be updating all the tteck github links on all my posts.
Issue with redundant IP address.
I purchased a Beelink MINI S12 Intel Alder Lake N100 and followed the above guides to transfer from a RasberryPi.
I installed Proxmox-ve_8.2-2.iso on the Beelink, created a VM to run HomeAssistant and then restored my BACKUP from the RasPi.
My problem is that I used the same IP address for the Beelink and for the HomeAssistant. I used the old IP address from the RasberryPi for the Beelink and HomeAssistant so my app links and shortcuts wouldn’t have to change. Now I get conflicts causing intermittent connections to my HomeAssistant.
What should I do to fix this?
The IP address being the same on both devices creates a communication conflict between them. Change the IP address for the Beelink.
I currently run HAOS bare metal on a Intel N100 machine. I think it is from a company with the name Bee. I actually bought two of them. Could I run an instance of HAOS / Proxmox on each one and have a high availability setup? I would assume I would need a shared storage location. I have a USB device for Insteon devices. That could not fail over so it might be a good time to replace all my Insteon devices.
Is this possible? Is there a place to get information?
Outstanding guide and so easy to follow for a Proxmox newbie! I was up and running in less than an hour.
I have a question about the helper scripts. Do they need to be maintained or updated at all for any reason? Home Assistant is the only VM running on this Proxmox host and I don’t plan to do much more of anything with this host.
Anyone know of a solid Proxmox VM backup guide? Looking for best practices.
Thanks again @DuckDuck25
No problem, glad it was helpful! No, for most of the helper scripts you just run them once and you are done. There are are handful of Proxmox scripts that do things like background LXC updates, which create a scheduled cron job. Those scripts might need very occasional updates. But the ‘install xyz’ script is just a one shot script.
great guides i was wondering if is possible to pass through directory to HA to use for backups and if can do a guide or explain how this is done thanks
Yes I have a Synology NAS share which is my backup target. Just go to Settings → Storage → Add network storage. Follow the wizard. That share will then be available in the 2025.1 backup configuration.
ok not sure if this is the same but the directory i was speaking of is in my proxmox server where HA is running
Ah…not sure how best you can use that. The HA wizard needs NFS or SMB share information. Both could theoretically be configured on the Proxmox host, but I prefer a dedicated NAS.
Ok thank for the help
Use the Samba Backup Addon in HA. No need for special Proxmox settings.
