i got this SLZB-06 adapter. how do i set it up as a repeater on my existing Z2M network? i see the instruction is here but it seems that is more for setting up as a Coordinator, not as a repeater/router to boost my zigbee coverage. please help.
connect via the UI interface using your browser http://slzb-06.local/
Go to
select Zigbee OTA update and choose
If you are running multiple SLZBs connected via ethernet, I’d suggest renaming one here so both are accessible via the UI
i flashed with router mode fw as u suggested. now what?
i see Z2M instructions but it is not clear where i can insert this code
You don’t need to insert that code. Are you on ZHA or Z2M?
When you go back to firmware update and check for Zigbee updates, do you see…
im using z2m
ok. i see now.
i had to go into z2m and Permit Join
i unplugged the SLZB and plug back in and then z2m auto add into my existing zigbee network.
your process is soooo much better than this outdated video. thanks!
Happy to assist! Please mark this post as a solution if you feel it will benefit others in the future.
upon doing more googling, if i follow your method, looks like the ethernet is just for powering up the device, correct? if i want to get devices in the garage (terrible coverage here because it is far away), i would need to set the stick as a coordinator as seen in that video after all…
lastly, if i set up as a 2nd coordinator in the garage, i would have to remove the devices already there from the 1st coordinator and re-add into this 2nd coordinator?
→ Correct.
Hey, how can i use it with ZHA?
i have 2 SLZB-06M.
One as Coordinator (10.0.4.3):
One as Router (10.0.4.4):
Both in the same network like my Home Assistant but i only can connect to the coordinator. The router is not visible or pairable
Thanks
in this video you can see how to set it up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GB51X30KuU while the vid is for Z2M, the same method is similar for ZHA
there is no setup in the video to set up the repeater with the coordinator. its only a mode description at the beginning.
after this in the video is only the coordinator setup. its not helpful and a repeater is not visible in the setup graph at the end.
Run SLZB-06 as a Zigbee router
- Go to the SLZB-06’s web interface.
- Go to
Mode
and select theZigbee Router
mode in theRadiomodule mode
menu.- Wait for the end of the firmware update.
- To pair or re-pair, go to the web-interface, section
Settings and Tools
→General Settings
and pressRouter reconnect
button.
Its really just available on the manufacturers website…
SLZB-06 as Zigbee router | SLZB-06 * Series Manual
When i push the ‘router reconnect’ what should happen? i get a spinner for a few seconds. and nothing. If i put the coordinator in pairing mode and than push the ‘router reconnect’ button also nothing happens after the few seconds seeing a spinner. Did it work for anyone else?
You did also set your zigbee gateway in pairing mode, right?
I have an existing Z2M network with an SLZB-06M and have purchased two more as routers for around the house and I cannot get them to pair.
- Both of the new devices are running the latest core firmware and router firmware
- My main device is running the latest core and dev coordinator
- Z2M is latest build (1.41.0)
- Clicking “Router reconnect” then permitting join in Z2M does nothing for either device.
I have the same problem. Stick running in Router mode does not pair with a coordinator. There isn/t even a messege about a pairing process in z2m browser view.
