Irobot Roomba I5+ -- Integration does not accept password

So I got a brand new Roomba I5+ and thought it would be a piece of cake to get this up and running in HA – but boy was I wrong :smile:

When I try to install the integration it works all the way until it tries and automatically detect the password.
It then throws an error and says that it could not automatically be detected.

I then worked my way through a ton of old posts on how to manually find your BLID and password β€” but when I enter that during the installation process it also does not like it.

I even reset everything (I5+) to the delivery status - I get a new (different) password - but again the integration in HA does not like it.

Anybody help please?

I almost can’t believe that after about 3 hours of trial and error - it is working now.

The solution was not not not (as it says in the instructions) to press the home and spot clean button until you hear the beep!

All you have to do is briefly press the home button and it works like a charm.

I am probably an idiot and everybody knew about this, but I will still leave this post here - maybe it will save somebody some time, blood, sweat and tears :slight_smile:
