Supervisor addons validate reporting snapshot is deprecated

Anyone getting these messages in the supervisor log, its been going on for sometime and assumed it would go away at some point as I don’t have adguard or unifi controller installed on my HA. I do have backup running on my HA, I checked my config and i have updated my automations to use backup not snapshot.

Running HA 2021.10.7 on OS 6.6 in Ubuntu 20.04.3

21-11-02 12:15:55 WARNING (MainThread) [supervisor.addons.validate] Add-on config 'snapshot_exclude' is deprecated, 'backup_exclude' should be used instead. Please report this to the maintainer of AdGuard Home
21-11-02 12:15:56 WARNING (MainThread) [supervisor.addons.validate] Add-on config 'snapshot' is deprecated, 'backup' should be used instead. Please report this to the maintainer of UniFi Controller
21-11-02 12:15:56 WARNING (MainThread) [supervisor.addons.validate] Add-on config 'snapshot_exclude' is deprecated, 'backup_exclude' should be used instead. Please report this to the maintainer of AdGuard Home

It is enough that they exist in an installed add-on store for these messages to appear.
Funny : both add-ons are created by frenck
To get rid of them : delete the add-on store they appear in.

I had a snapshot in one of my automations. Removing it removed the warning. Any chance one got missed?

Hi Francis, I think I checked for this, I have never had Adguard installed, I did have Unifi Controller but uninstalled when I added Cloud Key hardware. Checking again I don’t have either installed or configured in my system as far as I can tell. Outside of HACS and Integration in HA I am not sure where else to check that maybe some vestige of unifi controller still installed, as I said Adguard has never been installed.

So far I have not found anything

There is already informations about this on this forum. (At least for unifi)
There are also opened PR on both add-ons. This is just a warn. Nothing will break anytime soon. Don’t worry !

Edit : Where to report to unifi controller - #12 by SNoof85

I have had this problem for a while and just fixed it using your clue of updating automations. I too have never installed adguard and have never had unifi installed. I do have EdgeOS integration. Can you grep for it in the config directory to see if you have hassio.snaphot.system anywhere? Worth a try.

Edit - The warning just came back - Wrong again.

I eliminated the warning messages by editing the config.json file for the AdGuard and UniFi Add-ons.

I simply replaced instances of the word snapshot with backup in both files then restarted the Supervisor. On startup, its log shows no warnings for the two Add-ons.

On my Home Assistant Supervised system, the files are:

/usr/share/hassio/addons/git/a0d7b954/adguard/config.json
/usr/share/hassio/addons/git/a0d7b954/unifi/config.json

Caveats:

  1. I haven’t tested how this change affects the operation of these Add-ons. I don’t use them so it’s unimportant to me. YMMV.
  2. The modifications will probably be undone by the next upgrade.

Thanks guys, part of the reason I raised it was that I thought this had been fixed some time around when the change from snapshot to backup occurred. As I don’t have these I was assuming it would not affect my HA instance. Closing this now and will ignore the warnings.
