Me too, my Tuya smoke detectors are not detected in the home-assistant. I also have integration into google home and nothing displays. I think to flash them with tuya convert if I find a compatible firmware …
I actually flashed Tuya convert on it, and managed to get it to work with HA but I found out that the WiFi radio only connects and sends the alert if smoke is detected or the test button is pressed. Otherwise the entity is unavailable in HA. So you’d have to create an automation that when the entity becomes available, you can assume the alarm has been triggered.
I don’t know if help’s but I bought Airam wifi smoke detector which is basically same as tuya/nedis smoke detector but branded for Airam and It is recognized in Home assistant.
that’s interesting. I installed the Airam app and it recognized the Nedis sensor no problem. However, now it will not show up in my tuya integration in HA. Any ideas?
I bought nedis smoke detector, and it seems that nedis uses " wrong" device category in their detectors and that’s why it is unsupported.
Because of that I flashed tasmota to nedis smoke detector. Not ideal that either, because detector is normally unavailable in HA (detector will come online only when alarm is on), but it works.
