Dashboard: Sonos card

Is there a way to set the default player for the latest version of the card? I don’t want to limit access to other players but it would be nice to be able to specify which player is selected when the card first loads.

It’s a mystery. I cannot get it to show! Tried a reboot, different theme, deleted the card and reinstalled and nothing works. Weird. Anyway the default setup looks fine so I’ll just carry on.

Thanks for the great tool!

What version of home assistant?

2023.6.1. The latest

Uhmm. Please, can you tell us how do you set those Sonos-style icons? Where do you find them?

How did you setup those neat favourite buttons? Do they link to Radio Browser stations ?

  • open Sonos app
  • find a song
  • select radio from song
  • open recently played in Sonos
  • click add to my Sonos on the recently played song radio
    Done

I use Spotify on Sonos. Not sure if that’s required

The new version is awesome (also displays perfectly on the Samsung fridge browser, where the old version was challenged).

Two quesitons

  • Is there a way to get an icon only view for the media browser?
  • Is it possible to automatically switch back to the player section, eg. when someone changes the volume and leaves it on the volume section? I could do a browser mod page reload, but I am not sure how to even know which seciton is selected.

Hello there,

Long time no check-in. I’m on the beta version. I migrated Home Assistant to a new instance so I decided now was the time to change this card. Great job folding this into the front end cards configured in the UI. Really great stuff. Everything is working as described.

I did some basic tests and didn’t run into issues. One thing to note, crossfade state appears to be keeping up in real time now. Not sure when that was resolved but definitely works better now.

I only have 1 outstanding question. On the volume page, it only gives me the volume of the selected device or if grouped devices. Is that the intended functionality? Is there a way for me to see all my volumes regardless of what’s selected (so I can prevent grouping to a device set at volume 50)?

The only way I see to do this is keep selecting devices and swapping the pages back and forth.

You provided a super clean look and yes I want to junk it up by seeing all my volumes on the volume page.

Thank you for the nice words!

I understand where you are coming from with your request. Quite recently they added this to the official Sonos app, to see the volumes when grouping. I quite like it.
I’ll give it a think. But it will be some work. I have some outstanding bugs that needs addressing first.
Can you please post the request on Github?

Nice suggestions! Can you post them to Github?

I have this problem anyone can help me?
The full sonos card works fine but the others not

Yes, that no longer works with the new version. Please use sections instead. See documentation for details: GitHub - johanfrick/custom-sonos-card: Home Assistant custom lovelace sonos card

Hello again. I flagged the issue with the visual editor not working for me. I see you pushed an update but now I see it appears to be an app issue with the iOS app. When you pushed the update, on my iPad I can now see the visual editor “box” but there is nothing in it. On the iPhone I still get nothing ie it says I’m in visual editor mode but all I can see is the Sonos card itself.

However I just tried it on my laptop and the visual editor shows up perfectly and seems to work except the dynamic volume slider button doesn’t override my current 0-100 setting.

Overall functionality of the card is still fantastic so I’m just flagging the iOS issue for completeness. Not really affecting my usage. Thanks for great feature!

Thanks for reporting! Please reopen on GitHub or open a new issue there

And now that I’ve messed around with the visual editor on the laptop it’s fully rendering the visual editor on my iPad and iPhone! The best kind of fix…spontaneous!

Yeah, it’s always been tricky with home assistant frontend cache :disappointed:

Thanks for the awesome work, really like the card. I wonder how I can modify the icons for the individual speakers, as shown on Github, where the soundbar is actually a soundbar - and so on?
