Sidebar sequence and default theme settings lost on logout

I understand that these settings are apparently held in the browser as opposed to an HA configuration file.

Why???

This has to be one of the most irritating, long standing issues of the HA UI.

Surely it is not beyond the wit of man to make these settings persistent in the same way that, for example, dashboard layouts are.

Please, please resolve this…

Thx for such a brilliant product overall

So that different settings can be applied to different devices.

I use the same settings on all machines. However, it’s the loss of these settings when/if you logout.

Nonetheless, could that not be achieved by having those settings stored in a user profile?

And as to the other part of this initial post…concerning the not saving the theme after logging out and back into HA? Couldn’t find anything addressed in the Beta notes.
I’ve tried everything under the sun, including developer tools/actions/set default them but also a short automation.
Posted my efforts at:

“…when the user has “use default theme” configured in their user settings.”
I have (in German)…“Standardthema verwenden” which is, I assume what you mean. Selected this in user settings, but when I log out and back in, same problem…it’s not the standard HA theme but another theme in my list (dark mint). Also cleared browser cache…
But the fact that it always reverts to “dark mint”…maybe I have to delete this theme in my list.

So, deleted all other custom themes in my drop-down list and set my default list to my only custom one. The only problem now is that the dark mode is not saved.
